Default Update - Mac users: 10.5.5 fixed!

Don't have a link, but there's reports of crashing on various programs...I rely on iChat and it's been a no go since yesterday. iPhoto is sketchy as well.

Update: Looks like Apple fixed the iChat issue already. iPhoto fine as well.

I installed it last night. Havn't noticed any huge issues, though I don't use iChat. Adium FTW.

Looks like I've fixed iPhoto's problems by repairing disk permissions, iChat still being a wanker.

I installed it last night. No problems so far for me.

I've also downloaded the 10.5.5 combo update. I'll be installing that tonight.

(It's a full 10.5* update, not just an incremental from 10.5.4 - it refreshes a lot of system libraries etc.)

Oh what's that, MAC's having problems crashing? Trouble in paradise eh? I guess the only classy thing for PC to do now is launch an ad campaign highlighting the fact that there's a problem with Mac's, and have the ads run for like 5 years straight!

*Doesn't actually care about the MAC vs PC debate*

Naw, Microsoft will create a commercial involving a past-his-relevancy comedian who describes Vista as "delicious cake".

For the record, I've never had a problem updating windows using their updater ever since they built it directly into the system. Overall though, I've been running OSX on the same computer for nearly a year straight and haven't even felt the need to reinstall the base OS. I've redone my XP desktop twice in the same timespan...

Problem fixed. Turns out there was an error in quicktime update, if you get the 10.5.5 COMBO update it fixes it.

Paradise back to being paradise.

Nice to see the patch has been updated. In response to Flameswin's comment, I almost wish they'd go that advertising route! I saw the second Seinfeld/Gates add last night. I'm beginning to think I'm not smart enough to understand them.

Did you repair disk permissions?

I had no idea this was important on Mac's until last night. It's speeds up my start up time and generally it tends to be more responsive.

Does anyone actually use antivirus with their Mac? Three years in and I haven't seen a single reason to install such a program...

Repairing disk permissions is the Rebuild Desktop of OS X (for you Mac OGs).

Sometimes, I miss the old days where turning off extensions and rebuilding the desktop fixed everything.
