Default Shaw cable: Where is BCN?

Did a search for this and didn't find anything, but apologies if this is a very old topic. With Omni taking over channel 4 on the Shaw cable system in Calgary, is the Broadcast News Channel gone? Not riveting viewing I'll admit, but it was occsionally handy when you needed the weather forcast in a hurry and don't have time for the weather channel to get to the local info.

It will be gone I guess...I have seen billboards and such advertising a new channel beginning on September 15th. I have no idea what the new channel is or anything about it though.

I have a few Omni feeds on satellite. A lot of syndicated shows (like Law & Order SVU) and they also cater to ethnic communities by doing local broadcasts in various languages.

Yeah, it's licensed as a multicultural channel, but it shows a bunch of syndicated re-runs in prime time, which is apparently where it makes its money.

Here's their fall schedule: http://www.omniab.ca/fall2008_omni_alberta.pdf
