The US drops visa requirements for 7 countries
WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush announced Friday that citizens of South Korea and six other US allies would enjoy visa-free travel to the United States beginning about one month from now.
The other countries are the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovakia, all of which have reached agreements with the United States, which has broadened security measures in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

New US rules, to take effect in January, will require three days' advance registration on the Internet, prior to travel, and aims to make it more difficult for potential terrorists to enter the United States from various countries, including France, Germany, Switzerland, Britain, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Singapore, New Zealand, Japan and Australia.

Surprisingly, Poland is left out.
Nice to see USA following Canadian lead and lifting visa requirements for their allies. However, there are some concerns that this electronic registration will become just another form of visa requirement (you can be turned down) and of course the immigration officer on the airport can still deny you the entry.
