Default Getting guitar repaired

IS there any real good place to get some wiring work done on my guitar? My pickup switch needs replacing, and I am comig up this thurs for the weekend.

I dont trust the guys in Lloydminster too much to do the right job.

I am going to be in the NW but Dont mind traveling a little bit for a good job.

There is always the guys at Long & McQuade who have taken really good care of me for years now.

Else I could get one of my guitar playing buddies to do it. The guy I'm thinking of owns like seven and has basically customized them all inside and out, so I'm sure he could do your electrical. Might save you a little money too.

Did you have all the components to go in already?

There is a guy on CP who does this, I can't remember who. Wait until he comes up in this thread

Along the same lines, does anyone here know if there are folks in Calgary that deal with restoration? I've got a 1974 Guild acoustic that needs the bridge fixed/replaced and some scratches and surface cracks repaired.

I've found the names of a couple of places but if anyone here can recommend someone that would be great. I'm kinda nervous to take it to just any repair guy.

LeftWing you should check out www.fretwork.com. Miles is top class and the only person I'd go to for that type of work. I studied/worked with him for a while so I know the type of work he does and you won't get any better in Calgary.

Stang, I could help you out with the wiring. I'm a former electronic tech and I've done several pick up replacements and wiring repairs. PM Me if you like. I've done a set-up for Nufy and I've worked on a couple guitars for KG if you're looking for a reference.

Well to let everyone know, Redline did a great job. Replaced the switch and added some length to my pickups wiring.

I also couldnt get my Guitar to him on Thursday so I met him Friday AM before he went to work and he had it ready for me Sat night. (Although I didnt pick it up till Sun morning)

Sounds great and it plays great. and a VERY resonable price.

Thanks Redline!

You're very welcome. It was a pleaseure meeting you.

Part of the pay-off in doing this kind of work is getting to try out everyone elses guitars. You really threw me a curve ball, showing up with a lefty.

Maybe I'll have to learn how to play upside down or something.

You don't smash your guitars after every performance?

Well I got a couple more leftys for you with some more curveballs,

A neck thru with a slight twist in the neck, and a Dean FBD ML with a Floyd that could use a setup.
