Here is the moves that I know of:
Anaheim signs OF Steve Finley-could move by the halos...what an OF they have. Finley, Andersson, Guerrero.
Boston signs P David Wells-Boomer has lots of incentive money to play for with this deal. I also think Derek Lowe not be back with the Sox now.
Pittsburgh trades RP Arthur Rhodes to Cleveland for OF Matt Lawton. This is not comfirmed just being reported. This would be the 2nd time in 2 weeks that Rhodes would be traded. Not a major deal but saves the Pirates some cash. More was expected from Lawton in Cleveland, the Tribe gave up Robbie Alomar to get him.
Diamondbacks sign P-Russ Ortiz, and 3B troy Glaus. I don't know if they will be enough to have the D'backs make the playoffs, but the big unit might not be traded, because they are looking to be competitive at least.
Texas-signs OF Richard Hidalgo. He has some good power but I have read he can be a cancer in the clubhouse.
Things are starting to heat up at the meetings and I expect more big changes before the weekend is finished. Watch for the A's to trade either Tim Hudson or Barry Zito, this would break up one of the best young pitching staffs in MLB.

After losing Ortiz to free agency it looks like the Braves might make John Smoltz a starter again. The Braves acquired Brewer close Danny Kolb in a trade today.

Here are a few more rumblings that I have read about the past couple of days:
Red Sox to sign SS Edgar Renteria
Cards to sign SS Orlando Cabrera
Tim Hudson being traded from the A's to the Dodgers for a package of players including big pitching prospect Edwin Jackson.
The Dodgers have also given an offer to 3B Corey Koskie (the Jays may miss out again). Plus LA is close to signing catcher Mike Matheny.

Nice...good to have some baseball talk around.
Looks like the Jays might have the inside track for Koskie, though:
http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/news_story.asp?id=107955
That's a lot of bucks, though. But I guess w/out Delgado....Hinske to 1st base?
Also talk of them getting Matt Clement too from the Cubbies.

Not Fatbas**rd. I don't like the looks of this. It smells like some kind of a Yankees Trojan Horse.

Diamondbacks signed SS Royce Clayton who had a nice year with the Rockies.
Reports are indicating that the A's have traded Tim Hudson to the Dodgers for young pitcher Edwin Jackson and young infielder Antonio Perez.

Some other potential moves of note:
1) Report: Giants to sign Matheny
http://tsn.ca/mlb/news_story.asp?id=107985
Man, the Giants are becoming old...not that they weren't already, but...man. And good bye AJ at catcher...
2) Report: Sexson to sign with Mariners
http://tsn.ca/mlb/news_story.asp?id=107979'
Of note from the article: Sexson, who stands at 6-8, could actually be put in left field, according to the Post-Intelligencer. That would happen only if the Mariners can sign free- agent first baseman Carlos Delgado.

I've heard the M's are really close to signing Sexson, and that the O's may end up with Delgado.
Else where: the Whitesox acquired OF Scott Podsednik, and relief pitcher Luis Vizcaino from the Brewers for OF Carlos Lee.
This is the first of 2 big moves imo for the ChiSox who are also hoping to deal 1B Paul Konerko.
The Hudson to LA trade is apparently off, with the A's now talking with the Cards, Braves, and Jays. The potential deal with Atlanta would see 2B Marcus Giles and a young pitcher head to Oakland.
Apparently the Mets have added a 4th year in an offer to Pedro. And Atlanta has shown interest in Kevin Brown but would want the Yanks to pick up most of his contract.

I wouldn't listen to much here. First off it sounds like Billy Beane who is great friends with JP..was asking for Vernon Wells! No thank you, and second off it's not all great even if we got him since he's a free agent next year. I mean ouch, talk about a salary leap.

I have read now that Pedro is gone the Sox will spend that money on Renteria, and possibly Odalis Perez a LH starting pitcher from the Dodgers.

A couple more interesting transactions:
A report from TSN is saying the BoSox are close to signing Edgar Renteria, and that the Sox have signed LHP John Halama to a deal. Halama isn't great but is a nice addition because he can be a starter or a bullpen guy.
The Angels signed veteran P-Paul Byrd and then traded P Russ Ortiz to the Reds for minor league pitcher.

I like the bo sox getting Hallama but to me there a very tough team to understand right now, and I'm scared with what they might try and do here. With pedro saying goodbye and Schill missing the start of the season most likley they need a pticher which means the Jays are in tougher to get Clement. This MLB luxury tax system sure works!

Yup, looking like Renteria is likely going to sox, although not a done deal yet?
Poor Cabrera, though....poor guy took a bit to get going when he first got to the sox...but after that...I thought he did not too bad. Oh well...maybe the Cards will pick him up, so effectively you have a Renteria-Cabrera swap?
Cheers.
