Well I would say well done, hidden in plain sight but I guess that would depend on how long it was running for.
Ballzee to say the least.

200 marijuana plants worth millions of dollars?
They must have been wearing diamond rings.

You're expecting Edmontonians to be able to figure out plumbing for hydroponics? Fat chance!

I figured the constant drip from the leaky roof would make that unnecessary.

That was my thought exactly. "Those things must be budding diamonds instead of buds".

Maybe, but the way this story has it, every plant is worth at least 10 grand, and that just can't be true.
A cop once told me (and a whole classroom full of people) that they would "weigh the dirt" when they made this kind of bust. Take the plant, the dirt, even the container it was planted in, and put the whole works on the scale, then multiply that weight by whatever price Joe Longhair was paying for a single gram and that's how they came up with the 'street value'.
I think someone weighed the dirt in this story.

I wouldn't say WAY more, more yes, not WAY more!

If you are talking $25/g then you are talking 2.5x-3x more than what I am used to seeing it for. That's definately WAY more in my books.

Makes sense too!

Yeah, I've heard that too. They can't flat out lie about what they've recovered, but they can just weight it all. More weight, more predicted street value, more mind boggling and a bigger story when you get it in the papers.

There is no dirt in hydroponic growing.
Clearly they have over valued this though...unless each plant was yielding some ungodly amount of weed, but that's the norm for police departments. Makes it sound bigger than it is...though I gotta say 200 plants in a mall is pretty ballsy.
