Can any of you guys tip me off as to how someone could ship a guitar to Norway without paying an arm and a leg? Both FedEx and UPS gave me quotes in the $500-$600 range which is just ridiculous considering the guitar is selling for $750 . Can this possibly be done for around $100-$150? Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's the conundrum................
What kind of time issues are you looking at? IIRC Fedex and UPS only have a very quick shipping option, you could try Canada Post or Purolator with a 2 week delivery time.

Why would you use those companies?
If you are in Canada, go with Canada Post. If you are in the states, USPS. Both should be way cheaper. AND>..you will have far less customs issues and delays.

OK, so it appears that Canada Post is basing their shipping charges on the greater of actual weight or volumetric weight, meaning they're still going to charge me an arm and a leg for this
What exactly would shipping it wholesale include?
The package is going to be about 48"x20"x10", maybe smaller. It should weigh about 15 pounds.
all shipping companies charge based on the greater of the actual weight vs volume weight. try using a smaller carton, your carton will be charged at about 58 lbs.
calculate volume weight like this:
l" X w" X h" / 366 = volume weight in kg
i need a postal code in Norway to give you a rate.
