Default Dark Knight in Imax

Is it worth it to see it in Imax?

Should I only see it in the IMAX?

I searched the non-spoiler thread and nobody commented.

Thanks.

yea, i finally saw it yesterday and it is worth the 4 extra dollars..... this is like the first movie ever partially filmed in imax, and it was amazing... really good movie... the movie itself is worth seeing in imax even if there was no imax parts... but the imax scenes were amazing.

edit - by the way get there early, it was packed yesterday.... still... but i finally realized why it is soo popular

they started lining up at 6:00 ... i got in at 6:30 and it was at least 70% full, then shortly after i arrived a lot more came in

im not including the very bottom seats, but you wouldn't want to see it in those

wasnt worth it IMO, extra 4 bucks and extra drive for me. I've seen Dark Knight 3 times on the regular screen and once on the IMAX, didnt notice much difference. The biggest change i saw was the really dark scenes seemed brighter on the IMAX

4 scenes expanded accross the entire screen, these scenes were part of the best in the movie, and it was really good. Sure I never seen it in regular, but I have seen IMAX and non IMAX of the same movie, and the IMAX is always better to me, and ontop of that, the actual imax scenes would make it far better.
The movie itself is worth the extra 4 bucks as well, it comes to personal preference, I go to chinook since its closer, but I think based of previous movies, and I lived farther away, I would always go see IMAX over the regular movie screens.
And I would also think this movie was well worth the drive if i lived in like okotoks or something to see on the IMAX.

I figured we would wait a few weeks until the hype died down and everyone else had seen it. We went to the Chinook IMAX 2 weeks ago and it was sold out over an hour before showtime.

We're thinking of trying again on Friday, hopefully things have settled down a bit.

as i mentioned above.. make sure you get there at least 30 minutes in advance... might not be sold out, but you should get a decent seat

I drove to Halifax (4.5 hours away from me) to see it in IMAX. Was worth it. I loved the movie, and thought the IMAX version blew the standard version away

We went to the 10:30 show on saturday night. There was a lineup already an hour before the movie, but when the show started, I dont think the theatre was even full.

Imax was totally worth it.

i noticed that, it just didnt add anything to the viewing IMO. If i lived close to Chinook and that was my normal theater i'd probably watch on the IMAX all the time but I live 10 mins from SilverCity and 40 mins from Chinook. not worth it for me.

I'm just not sure what was added by having those specially filmed scenes. I've been to the IMAX before for the rainforest and grand canyon type movies and I remember it feeling like i was there and I could feel it plunge down 100's of feet and felt my stomach in my chest. I was expecting that type of feeling and didnt get it, especially the scene in tokoyo when he jumps the building.

I saw it on IMAX on the first day it was out and on a regular screen the second day. IMAX is definitely worth the extra couple bucks and I had to drive about an extra 10-15 mins. The sound in IMAX is unreal, it rumbles in there, it's awesome. And the opening sequence of Dark Knight is amazing in the IMAX.
