Parking at Humpty's on Transcanada?

Just a random question;

On the #1 highway heading out west from the city, at the #22 junction, there is the Petro-Can/Humpty's truck stop. And at said truck stop there are always a huge number of cars parked along the access road. I used to figure it was people going into Calgary for work (carpool), or a pickup point for ski hills. But I don't get what it could be. I mean, there are always cars there even on hot days, cold days, holidays, summer, winter etc.

carpool. generally people headed to go do something in the mountains. so you pretty much answered your own question - skiers, climbers, hikers, kayakers, etc
