Default Isaac Hayes dead at 65

http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Musi...bit/index.html

Very talented man. Not only sang, but scored movies including writing the music for his famous hit, the theme from Shaft.

I love breaking out, "You damn right!" whenever I can.

Hayes also made us laugh as Chef on South Park for the better part of a decade.

Didn't he get into a dispute with the creators of South park?

Yes, he was a scientologist and as such was upset over the episode that ridiculed scientology.

Quote:
Hayes, an outspoken Scientologist, said "There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins," in reference to the "Trapped in the Closet" episode which mocked the Church of Scientology and several celebrity followers.
Matt Stone, a co-creator of South Park, told the Associated Press that "This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology... He has no problem — and he's cashed plenty of checks — with our show making fun of Christians."
Stone claimed that "[Hayes] wants a different standard for religions other than his own, and to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin."

Yup. After 10 years of making fun of christians, jews, mormons, islam, hindu, white, black, chinese, and everything inbetween, he got offended when they did scientology and quit the show.
So they turned Chef into a pedophile and killed him off. LOL!

Hmmm didn't know the Scientology stuff. What the heck attracts so many successful people to that? I guess that's another thread.

Wow he died on the treadmill. Kind of strange the pedestrian way many people die. Orville Reddenbacher died in his own jacuzzi.

Wouldn't that be nice though?

I hope that whenever I die, it's totally unexpected. It'd be terrible to sit in the hospital for weeks or even months before finally passing away.

For the superstitious people out there, Paul Newman apparently only has weeks to live...he'd be the third. Bernie Mac, Isaac Hayes, and possibly Paul Newman.

I really hoped he would forget his religion and join South Park again, I really enjoyed him on the show and was disappointed when he quit. I didn't know his music that well but RIP.
