Default PGA Championship 2008 Thread

With tee off a day away, might as well start this thread.

Course is setup long and tough, should be fun to watch.

As always, I'll be rooting for Vijay. Coming off of a win last week, he's got as good of a chance as any. If his putter is working, he's one of the favorites.

I'll be following Anthony Kim as well, he's got the goods.

Just looking at some scores....looks like the course is pretty tough.

Hunter Maha. who I believe is on the Ryder cup for the US is +10 thru 16 holes...ugly.

Mickelson is E along with kim, and Singh is -2....Jeev Mikha Singh that is.

Sergio has a good day and finishes -1.

Monty and Allenby both at +6 for the day, Love III at +7.

Long firm and fast...may be tougher than the US Open set up of last month.

Day 2 looks like it may be tougher than day 1 at this point.

Bad news for the Canadians as Weir is blowing up and is +4 for the day through 9 holes while Ames is even but both are at +7 for the championship. So is vijay Singh

Right now the cut is at + 5...however that should go up with most golfers still to tee off. If Ames and Weir can play level par for the rest of the day, they might make the weekend.

Nobody on the course today is under for the tournament....so yes it looks to be as tough or tougher a challenge than the US Open at this point of the weekend.

Harrington made some great putts there to save par twice and get a birdie on three pretty tough holes. 3 of the last 6 majors is pretty impressive. Talk about taking advantage of a Tiger-less field.

I think that putt for Harrington on 16 to save his par was absolutely huge. Garcia had made a really good chip to keep himself in position to make bogey and it looked like he'd still have the lead by himself going into 17. But when the two players were tied, and than Harrington made that putt on 17 to get the lead you could see things slipping for Sergio. Harrington also made an amazing par on 18 as well. He truly did win that tournament on those last three holes, although the back 9 as a whole was very impressive.
