Default FS: 2006 G&L Legacy Guitar

Made in the U.S.A. Great condition. Very minor scratching due to getting played. Minor wear on neck. Includes hardshell case. Bought it new in 2006 for $1500. Asking $800.

Minor wear on the neck is visible in this shot:

I can take more pictures if you need them. PM me or email fleudian@gmail.com if you're interested.

Just wanted to say that the G & L Legacy is a great guitar...I've got one as well that's a few years older and I love it.

How come you're looking to sell yours if you don't mind my asking?

Well, the lady friend has forbidden me to spend any more money on guitars, so anything I want to get I have to finance by selling gear I already have . I'm trying to get one of these: Click. That being said, I just couldn't find a lot of use for this guitar, as I vastly prefer the sound of humbucking pickups.

I've never seen a Charvette before, although I have liked the Charvels I've played. Unfortunately, Suhr's aren't cheap

I'd sooner get rid of my lady "friend" than any of my instruments or gear. Ever consider the kind of person she is to forbid you to spend your money on what you want?

Would somebody PLEASE, think of the instuments!

Well, I have to admit that she's right to say I should be saving my money, what with university and all. Still, though...

They were marketed as low-end Charvels in the late 80s early 90s. They, along with Jackson guitars are thought of as "shred " guitars, and with the rise of grunge rock around that time sales declined. They had Floyd Roses and it was/is common to customize them with EMG hbs. Also they are marked as Charvel Ft Worth Texas but none were made in the US. Most were made in Korea and I've heard that some were made in Japan. You can get one for about $200 or less unless it's been heavily customized. They're actually becoming kind of a "cult" item. In any case the Charvel San Dimas you see now have little to do with the old Charvels. They went through a whole complicated set of buyouts much like Fender. Wayne Charvel customized Eddie Van Halens guitar (pictired on their first album) long befor he was famous..then he sold the Charvel name to his employee Grover Jackson etc.etc. ad nauseum I dont have a pic of mine right now but I'll get one.

I had this fight with my girlfriend the other day. I am upset that she decided to commit a whole hell of a lot of time and money to two weddings this year, as opposed to taking whats going to turn into $2000 for other people to get married and coming on a vacation (which I need SOOOO bad...).

But in the end, she has a right to spend her cash on whatever she wants. If I want to go on vacation without her (as much as it would suck) I can, and she has no right to be upset.

Actually, so long as our responsibilities to each other are taken care of (rent, bills, stash/booze money) then we don't generally even give the other an opinion of what they should or shouldn't be spending on.

Its a slippery slope dood. Give her this one and soon she'll be thinking she knows whats best for you about everything. And then you're eff'd.

I could see if this was selling a TV, Gym Equipment, a Stamp Collection, Model Trains, or whatever. But it seems to me shes making you sell something you love, that she sees as something that might just possibly take time away from her. Which is lame.

Never ever sell an instrument, especially a good one, for some broad. ANYTHING ELSE, but not instruments.

Just my opinion. Best of luck.

Hey Ale....from the other side of the fence I have to agree. I'm a woman and regretably I've given up too much to stay in various relationships....including guitars, dreams, time...it is a slippery slope. But I did date someone who thought I loved my guitars more than him...maybe he was right but you know what...he liked to go to strip clubs, even though he knew it broke my heart. His answer was always oh this is what guys do, get used to it. No wonder I turn to an inanimate object for love and support!!! LOL

Nothing wrong with loving a guitar, and I mean really LOVING a guitar or any musical instrument.

There is something wrong with using your status as their partner to have leverage over said objects of love.

By the time he sells the guitar for 800, hes going to take her on a date which will be probably 150 dollars. So, is 1/5 the energy, time, and love invested worth making some university missus happy for one evening before its back to "oh woe me, all you think about is music."

I mean, even if she doesn't come out and say it, its all about that really.

And I'm really sorry about your past relationships where you were made to feel that giving up your prized possessions and dreams was important. No real partner ever does that to you no matter what.

You are so right about everything. I agree that your post guitar sale scenario would probably come true!!!I know plenty of musicians who stayed with women like this and were miserable..of course some got smart and ended them(not the women, the relationships..haha they'd like to do the former) It doesnt matter how beautiful, wonderful, good in bed, sweet, rich whatever someone is ...if they try to steal your soul through guilt, etc. it will come to a bad end.
