Movie Draft Workshop Thread (Sign-Up)
I've received alot of messages about a movie draft.
My observation is that outside of the Flames, movies might be the most popular subject on this board. I'm not sure how a movie draft would work or how big it would be. I imagine we would have alot of participants and need alot of categories. It would be huge so it definitely would be the last draft this summer.
Please sign-up here and let me know what suggestions you have.
I would like the start the draft Monday morning.
Categories would include:
1940s, 1950s, 1960, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, Best Picture, Action, Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller, Comedy, Musical, Romance, plus geographical categories.

I'd like to be in on the movie draft. Stealing an idea from CaptainCrunch, what are opinions regarding a 'Guilty Pleasure' category?

Read the first page of either the hottie or the music draft for reference.
Same concept.. you pick (a movie) when it's your turn and fill in all the categories.
A reminder to all that's it can be quite time consuming. Just keep an eye on when its your turn

There might be issue with the Thriller category, some people would consider something a thriller, but some would just call it a drama. Maybe we can use IMDB and use their classifications or something. So, obviously, some movies would fall into multiple categories.
Other categories that would be cool
sports
kids
superhero
sci fi
Gratuitous Gore/Nudity
Choose a random actor that's been in lots of flicks, could get some interesting picks......

I think I'd be in for this one. Sadly my knowledge of movies is far beyond my knowledge of hot women (that's to say that I know more movies than I knew some of the names being thrown around in that other draft).
I vote for the following catagory:
Pauly Shore Movies
And stay away from foreign.

And researching movies at work is safer than women right?
I like a couple of foreign categories to spice it up. Nothing too specific though. Like Europe might be an entire category.

I'd be up for this.
I would much prefer a hottie draft for us ladies to participate in, but whatever, movies...

Agreed! I think it would be a pretty small draft but it would be fun!

Yeah, it is disappointing really. We really need a higher number of females on this board so we can do stuff like that.

It would have to be a hot guy draft but
a) there aren't enough females
b) i'd be banned :P
troutman: no actors/actresses.. just movies
and i don't mind overlapping categories.. each movie can only be picked once so you decide what category. Doesn't really matter if a movie can fit into 20 categories, it can only be in 1.
