What are your Future Goals?
I've been wondering this alot lately trying to figure out what to do when I eventually finish school, and not just spinning the hamster wheel until death. Something interesting, obtuse and/or different.
For me, I have:
- Learn to pilot a glider/plane
- Do a multi-pitch rock climb (hopefully this year, http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/r...dral-peak.html )
- Learn and pick up white water rafting
- Own a sail boat
- Participate in ballroom dance competition (hopefully this year)
- Have lunch with a top 3 person-to-have-lunch-with on my list
- See Petra in Jordan, Potala Palace in tibet, Machu Pichu in Peru (hopefully this year), visit Isreal.
- Start, organize and run a charity if I ever have the wealth/power to do so
- (find my passion in life, whatever that may be)
EDIT : I was sort of hoping for interesting ideas and goals, rather then witty, overused witty remarks that arn't really that witty.

Funny...I just set my goals for this year...not resolutions, but goals. They mainly involve weight loss targets (started a month ago and have lost 15lbs thus far), paying off specific debts and home reno stuff. Other than that, haven't thought farther into the future than the end of this year.

Cool TOTF - Russia was one of the most interesting places I have ever seen. Highly recommend, but be prepared for some Andrei Taratuhkin like frustrations, except instead of just as a hockey fan, every aspect of your interactions. Nothing against Russians or anything, and its a incredible place to visit, but like traveling anywhere else really different from your own society, you just gotta learn to go with the flow.
EWB - what do you plan to do with them? I tried getting involved with EWB, but there didn't seem to be very much for EE's outside of fund raising, and I wanted a more hands on interaction with them.

I really really want to go to Red Square!
I have been on the EWB mailing list for about 5 years now and have been to a couple of meet and greets. There is one on January 6th actually.
I am going to meet some people that have done the Africa gig for the first time on the 6th actually so I will have more information. I just think it will be a good experience for me and it will be a good way to put things in perspective and so I could finally see how good we have it here in Canada and the United States. I can pass on more info after the 6th if you would like?
The 4 months off work might be tough but the window of opportunity for me doing something like this is closing.

-Spend a year travelling around and working in Australia. Going to be realised in a week and a half after much effort.
-Sky dive
-Go to university and study to be a nurse, travel the world working in different cities as a nurse.
-Learn to skate (probably one of the only huge hockey fans who can't skate)
-Learn to speak French fluently
-Just like the OP, its my dream to see Petra and Machu Pichu specifically. Those places just fascinate me
-See as much of the world as I can
The list goes on, but those are the main ones right there

Well I'd be interested to see what opportunities you come across that EE's do, or your opinions of them.
I know EWB as well, been to a couple meet and greets as well, have some friends in EWB including one that went to Africa, but they were mostly CivE stuff.

-Catch a ball game in every ball park in the big leagues.
-attend a college football game at one of the monster stadiums in the big 10 or SEC.
-Complete a marathon.
-Blue Jays playoff game (probably the least likely!)

Awesome goals rico. I've done everyone of those except for the marathon, and I've got 10 ball parks left to go to.
College games in a big 10 stadium are awesome, its more awesome to go to a bowl game though.

I went to the cotton bowl when I went to college in Dallas, there's no better way to watch football.
I also saw the Rolling Stones and their opening act Living Color in the cotton Bowl with what seemed like 100000 screaming stoned fans.

Just a few; too many lofty ambitions might lead to disappointment!
- Go back to finish my Masters
- Live in Asia for 1-3 years doing work in my field
- Work in the intelligence sector of government
- Do the deed with at least one woman from each continent (So far I've finished Australia, Europe, and North America!)
- Keep in shape for the rest of my life

When I was in Moscow, I had a room in the Hotel Russya overlooking the Red Square and the Kremlin (despite the fact that I was penniless at the time). Very cool view, and a really awe-inspring place to walk around. That said, give yourself a lot of time in St Petersburg when you go. There's probably about sixty things I'd recommend that you do between those two cities, but I won't list them all here...
My list (I think we had an almost identicle thread a few months ago, and mine haven't changed much): Take a major train trip across every inhabited continent (I've done North America, Asia, and Europe so far - looking forward to someday doing the outback, the savannah, and the andes, along with hopefully more in asia and europe). Build a cabin/artist-retreat out in the wilderness somewhere. Knock-up my wife. Write more novels. Finish building my home-built CNC router and set up a letterpress, hopefully a large Vandercook.

That's me right now too. I crossed off my 2 major goals this past year (passed a major professional exam & toured Europe), now I'm in a state of flux not sure what I want to do for the rest of my life, or at least in the intermitent future.
I guess:
-Travel to Australia/New Zealand
-Do a Safari tour in Africa
-Find a girl and settle down
-Make my first million by my early 30's

Well, I plan to take one of those Greenpeace granola crunchers from their protest against Japanese whaling and get my freak on along an icy ridge. That's close enough!

- Visit New York, or any major holiday destination this year. (Having a child has but a big speed bump on that one, but it could happen.)
- Work on getitng out of debt.
- Understand my house more, rely less on Calgarypuck for my maintainence questions.
- Write a book.
- Spend more time with my last surviving Grandparent.
- Be half the father my father was to me.
- Rediscover myself, and what makes me happy (paging Dr. Fotze)
- Get back into shape, get stronger, definement.
- Eat healthy.
- Find more enjoyment at work.
- Be a better dog owner.
- Cook more.
Is that enough?
