Default Retrieving deleted text message

Is it possible to retrieve deleted text messages from a cell phone and if so, how?

FWIW, using a LG phone and Fido as a carrier.

Once it leaves the network swich and is received by your phone it is deleted by the server. Then once you delete it from your phone it is GONE!

This is why I am happy to have a Treo as I still have text msgs from last April saved since it has almost unlimited memory.

Normally a phone will keep the text msg in internal memory. So once it's gone it's removed foreever. However, there may be a sliver of hope. My phone will save mine to the SD card. Deleting a file off a SD card is just like removing it from a hard drive. It can still be recovered using recovery software as long as nothing else has been written to it. The problem however is that most txt msg's aren't stored as a single file, but in a larger mass file.. all depends on your phone, but worth a shot to pull the sd card and try it if you have one.

I know with Telus there's a function on their website whereby you can see text messages sent and received for the last two weeks or so... But you have to set it up to do that.

That's exactly what it's for I think. Although sometimes I get a message and think "what the hell was that in response to?" and look it up.
