If I Had $1 Million Dollars . . .
I'd buy lots of coke?
http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/2008/07/16/6173906-cp.html
The Barenaked Ladies are thanking fans for their support following news that frontman Steven Page has been charged with cocaine possession.
Page was charged with possession of cocaine in the town of Fayetteville, N.Y., on July 11. Two women also face drug charges.
He was released from custody after paying $10,000 bail.
The charge couldn't come at a worse time for the 38-year-old singer, who recently released a kids album with his band called "Snack Time," and is set to perform at a children's-themed event in Long Island, N.Y., next month.

I love how fans are posting how they have lost respect for him. Everyone has their crutches and so the guy likes some blow every now and then, most musicians do.

See I think, drugs have some done good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us. Do me a favor, go home tonight, take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your CDs, and burn them. 'Cause you know what? The musicians who made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years? Reeeeeeeal farking high on drugs

Grandmaster Flash - White Lines (Don't Do It)
http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.n...256D8A002F62FA
Ticket to ride, white line highway
Tell all your friends, they can go my way
Pay your toll, sell your soul
Pound for pound costs more than gold
The longer you stay, the more you pay
My white lines go a long way
Either up your nose or through your vein
With nothin to gain except killin’ your brain
Athletes rejected, governors corrected
Gangsters, thugs and smugglers are thoroughly respected
The money gets divided
The women get excited
Now I’m broke and it’s no joke
It’s hard as hell to fight it, don’t buy it!

This is not a Tool quote. This is a Bill Hicks quote.

its the opening to tools song "third eye"
to me it seemed it would get more recognition as such instead of putting Bill Hicks
perhaps I underestimate teh name recognition of Bill Hicks...

I totally agree. All good music is written by guys that are really high.
Maybe it would do the members of tool some good to start taking some drugs.

I was kinda bummed by the news. The BNL guys are about my age, and we all grew up in the Toronto suburbs, so I thought they were pretty grounded. I guess people do lose their way every now and then.
Getting caught in this way is a bit more embarassing than a sudden announcement of going into rehab, so there will be some PR work to be done here.
