Default Computer Chairs

well the one i have right now it's on it's last legs, so i'm in the market for a new office chair. tried browsing through office depot but couldn't really find one i liked. anyone out there have recommendations for a nice higher end chair? i'd like to find one of those newer mesh ones, they seemed to be very comfortable

The new goggles also do nothing.

Yeah the Aeron and those kinds of chairs are awesome, though expensive (like $1000+). What kind of budget? I got one from staples that has the similar mesh back and a cushion seat but it has mesh on it as well. I really like it, if I was at home I'd get you the model. It was $200-250 if I remember correctly.

Costco has some nice leather office chairs. I picked one up and its comfy as hell. I think it was under 200 bucks.

This is the one I've got I think.. not sure I'd want leather, could get sticky in the summer.

Whatever you do, don't get the Costco "leather" chair. The padding in it will flatten in no time, leaving it feel like you are sitting on plywood. As well, it doesn't breathe worth a darn. My chair did this along with 4 others', all in roughly a year.

I sold these for three years..

Not a bad chair, the mesh holds up better than the other similar chairs they carry, and the adjustable back pad is a nice touch.

Cons: the seating surface can seem a bit deep, it's a fairly big-feeling seat but fairly padded all the same. The gas lift can also tend to feel a bit rickety if it isn't tightly placed in the base.

Steer clear of their leather chairs unless you can work yourself a deal on a demo. They absolutely reek like oil or something coming out of the box, and it takes a couple months to dissipate.

Yeah for the price I haven't found anything better yet. I used to have an Aeron when I worked at Gulf, amazing chair, this one isn't as good of course but still a lot better than most I've used/owned.

I approach chairs as I do my bed. If I'm going to be spending a large amount of time in it, it should gather a corresponding amount of investment.

Having a good bed and a good chair might cost you a lot initially, but it could save you a lot more in the future. The Aeron chair is certainly worth the investment if you're planning on spending 35+hours a week on it.
