Default Matt Suelzle Road Hockey Tournament

Hey everyone, I'm sure some of you guys would remember a thread that J pold started in back in September of 07 (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=47047).

Now almost a year later J pold, iggypop, Blayn, myself and some other friends are putting on a street hockey tournament where all proceeds will be donated to the epilepsy foundation.

The tournament takes place August 9th at the willowridge community center in SE Calgary, registrations fee's are $75 and must be in by August 1st. the winning team will recieve a $200 gift card for boston pizza, and there will also be silent auction items such as game used and signed Alexander Ovechkin hockey sticks, a team signed Washington Capitals jersey, and also a round of golf with carts at the Carmony golf course.

Lots of fun to be had at this tournament and anyone is welcome to play. Teams must consist of at least 4 players and a goalie (equipment is not supplied). To register a team please feel free to PM either myself, J Pold, or iggypop.

Thanks a lot everybody, and I'm not sure if this plug here is against forum policies or so but it consists of road hockey and a good cause.

EDIT- feel free to check out the facebook group as well http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/gr...id=22457751050

I might be interested in putting a team together. Just one question though....

My buddy gets back from Israel on the 7th, so odds are my whole team would still be drunk come time for the tournament. What is the rules surrounding alcohol consumption and sobriety through out the tourney?

Teams will have 4 players and 1 goalie on at all times (total 5)

We have not set a maximum amount of players on a team, i wouldn't think it would be much of an issue, I'm sure it wouldn't get to out of hand since most players would probably want to be on at all times

Haven't set and exact length to games yet, it will be easier to figure out once we have a set amount of teams, but we are probably looking at 10-15 minute halves so 20-30 minute games...

It would be fine by me, keep in mind that the tournament is held at a community center, so I'm not sure if it would be fine by law, but I will probably have a cooler there full of refreshments myself...

Well we wouldn't be obliterated or anything like that, but i can see us spiking some sports drinks and having a beer or two between games, i will see what kind of interest i can pull together for this.

I would just like to thank jroc for starting this thread and for those who are interested

This will undoubtedly be a really fun time for all, and keep in mind that all of you registration fees will be put towards a charitable foundation (The Epilepsy foundation of Calgary) and you are eligible for a tax receipt (yes I know it’s only 15 dollars a person if you spilt it 5 ways but hey)

And CrispyGriz I’m sure that stuff with be totally OK by the end of the day I’m sure most people will be feeling it and the whole lot of us will probably just head to bar for some more good times

Again thanks to everyone who has shown interest and feel free to contact me Via PM or email

I'd be interested in playing, but I dont have 3 other people or a goalie or street hockey goalie equipment or any of that jazz, so if a team needs a player I might be down for that.
