HMMM... this raises a few questions and is kinda interesting. Its his job, he should be awake, but I am sure it has happened to many of us!

While no judge should ever ever fall asleep while on the bench, he is there merely as a mediator. But he does have a larger role to play when they are talking about sentancing (which it is in this case). He shouldn't of fallen asleep. I don't think they have grounds for an appeal, maybe on the term of the sentance, but I think he was still convicted.

I heard about this from some lawyers at a recent christmas party, pretty funny really. I guess he is a bit of an old geezer but he was seeking help frmo doctors apparently.... ??
