Default Nasty death clouds near Cochrane

Can any of you weather experts tell me if this system that is moving through just east of Cochrane will turn into anything? IE: Tornado?

Or is it just a big, nasty death cloud?

Yeah.. I can see it raining in the NW from the offices downtown.
Looks like it's headed this way. I hope I can get home before it rains.

Who knows... yesterday was a weird day and today could be as well. Always assume it could end up with a tornado or at worst large hail. The center will skip by the NE portion of Calgary while continuing SE or perhaps turning more East. The storm is pretty low (5.5km tops), so there's not too much vertical energy which would make it harder for tornado's and hail to form.

You may get a funnel cloud though.

Just an FYI...we've had reports of "swirling" clouds up in Ranchlands at work.

im pretty sure that a tornado is a bit worse than large hail

You can out run tornado's... hail on the other hand

Anyways... I did mean a tornado was worse... which is why I said or at worst, not or worse.

It just passed by my place in Acadia and those clouds definately had some rotation going on, once that sucker gets outside the city I can definately see some funnel clouds and possible tornadoes developing.

Starting to rain here in Erinwoods, not really pouring a huge amount or anything. Got a bit of hail, but that's about it.

i had to run out to my car because i had left my windows open (silly i know).
I was out in the rain for all of 30 seconds. Not a dry spot on me. Not to mention, some crazy wind.
