I Survived a Japanese Game Show!
Has anybody seen this show yet! It's friggin' hilarious! Apparently the contestants were duped into thinking they were going onto a Survivor-type show and instead were flown into Tokyo where they have to live together compete on a Japanese game show in order to move on. I thought this show was great!

Odd concept for this show.
I'm sure this will get discussion going... once it's moved to the OT Forum.

Well, while it captures the over the top quirkyness of Japanese game shows, it does so to the extreme. It's annoying to watch.

Actually a lot of it seemed rather tame in comparison to the actual Japanese game/variety shows. The ones I watched in Tokyo were on an epileptic level. Constant bright words flashing up, lots of camera movement, lots of screaming and laughing. But this one fits the bill of being extreme in North American terms.

I like reality shows in general... but not this one yet... it seems a little too staged for my taste... especially the non-game show parts... like the punishments and rewards... reward them fine but the punishment piecve is lame and could be scrapped... I think its enough they lose and have to send someone home.
An example of the "staging" is when the losers had to pull people around in carts for tours of the city, and the girl that whines suddenly has a customer thats obviously a sumo wrestler... it sort of back fired as she was able to actually do it, but you know the producers set that up for some "HI-Larious" moments of "I can't doooo iiiiit... heee' toooo big, whaaaaaa."
This ones not one my PVR list yet.

They need to do a version called I survived a Canadian game show.
Host - "Ok bill, your managed to get to the grand prize round, so you have a choice, you can go for the box of snicker bars, or you can stop right now and keep the $20.00 that you've won so far"
Bill - "Ah errrr, I think I'll play it safe and keep the 20 bucks, I am Canadian you know"

They had a person riding a tricycle on a conveyor belt, and two people on stationary bikes. The two guys on the stationary bikes controlled the speed of the conveyor belt, so the faster they pedaled, the slower the conveyor belt went. The person on the tryke had to be in a certain zone, and the team with the longest time in the zone in the allotted time won. Oh, and if you pedalled too slow, the person on the tryke would fall into a pool of ice water.
Kinda clever game, I think I liked this game the most out of the three I saw so far.

Ok, by the title I thought you were actually on this show.
THAT would have been cool. Otherwise. Seen it, done it etc.
