Default The Ignore List

Who uses it? And why?

I understand that some posters are morons or trolls, and have nothing good to say at all, but isn't that entertaining?

I think so, especially on this message board. CP has a lot of wise post-whores, and for that reason, not one silly comment goes unnoticed...it gets quoted multiple times, and that poster will more than likely get owned on a hilarious level.

And seriously, who doesn't like fighting/arguing? Who doesn't like watching a fight go down?

You'd have to think the users with ignore lists miss out on a lot, which is why I have never added anyone to mine.

...and the fact that I don't even know how to add names...

Does anyone want to share their lists (if this is allowed...)? What comments prompted you to ignore that user?

haven't added anyone, besides the people who make the most ridiculous comments set themselves up for the funniest jokes, who would want to miss out on that??

Yeah, I saw that thread where posters were bragging about how they had 100+ posters on their ingnore list. WDF is that about? Who would go through the trouble of doing that on a messege board?

Besides like you guys said, some of the best laughs on here are provided by trolls.

Its like muting someone yelling at you over the phone, or putting the phone down on the table and grabbing a soda while someone goes on a monologue rant that you don't care to hear.

Sometimes it just feels good.

My list is empty, but hasn't always been. Its a tool to use sparingly to allow you to enjoy the forums. Some people make consistent comments that just make you mad. So don't get mad, get ignorant

What? are you serious? are you lacking a thrilling life? man, I had Lollergirl, a poster, type some lewd and indecent ish.

It wasnt even the barely eighteen or MILF stuff I normally like.

It was offside, that is why I ignore her.

If it's a fight, I can defend myself. For god's sake, it's a message board. I just don't want spam or junk mail filling my inbox.

I have 19 users on my ignore list. 17 of them are/were Oiler and Canuck trolls who simply hadn't accumulated enough blue squares for the mods to ban them at the time.

One is a certain Flames "fan" most here would remember, and the other I have no idea why I ignored anymore, but I trust my judgement.

If we post who is on ours, and give a reason why, are we destined for another blue square? Mods?

I don't have anyone on mine. I'm too curious as to what the idiots are posting, so every time I try to put someone on ignore I just end up taking them off to read their new posts.

I have a few obvious Canuck/Oiler trolls on mine, and a few who are Flames fans but can't type a proper sentence.

I should be ignoring this crazy lady who claims all people who have dogs in the city are cruel and accuses me of animal abuse, but she's just too damn entertaining.

I don't see why anyone would have anyone on their ignore list; I agree with the original poster, it's all entertainment! Even if you don`t post, you can watch the crap-disturber get pwned by so many others. It`s just a message board, and sometimes it`s fun to see others get trounced.

But, engaging in a great debate on an intellectual level is even more invigorating.

I don't think it's a good idea to idenitfy posters on your respective ignore lists. Turns this into a bit of a populatity/elitist type of thing.

There are a few posters that, every once in awhile, I toy with putting them on the ignore list, but I haven't and doubt I ever will. As people have said, it's all entertainment. So, my ignore list is empty.

I can't help but be curious about whether I have made any posters ignore lists.

I've had a couple of private messages asking me to put them on my ignore list.

Everyone has the right to voice their opinion. But when they consistently and persistently voice an opinion that is idiotic or poorly written, I don't feel the need to hear from them when I go to threads. Usually they get banned or go back to junior high within a few weeks, so I suppose I could just wait it out, but I'm an impatient man.

At any rate, only one current poster is on my list. Mostly due to their misunderstandings regarding the current CBA and salary cap. I was getting annoyed when I would read what was essentially a load of huey, and now I'm much happier to not have to do so.

I've actually considered putting one poster on my ignore list just because of the fact that his posts are always full of spelling mistakes. I'm interested in what he says, but the spelling......!

I'd be too afraid to actually ignore someone though. What if they quoted a post of mine and made me look like a fool? I wouldn't be able to see this, and that'd make me look like an even bigger ###### for not replying and defending myself.
