Getting rid of some bad gas........
Long story short, I inherritted a couple of gasoline cans from a neighbour when he moved out. I didn't happen to check at the time, but one appears to be mixed with oil, so I can't use it. The other can has what appears to be regular gas in it, but when I mixed it 50/50 with what I use for the lawnmower the mower coughed and sputtered the whole way.
So, I have these 2 cans that I need to get rid of. Yes, I am aware I could drop them off at the fire station, but more than anything I'd rather just get rid of the contents and keep the cans.
Anybody know where I could get rid of it? Short of burning it off of course.

You obviously don't have a fire pit or you'd have thought of burning it in there already... Take it to a friend's house and burn it in their fire pit. Bring a sixer. He won't say no.

It sounds like it's pretty diluted/weak gas so you could try huffing it and see what that does for you.

Just pour it down the drain, it's perfectly safe. And legal.

Sink?
I figure that your best bet is to transfer the contents into another container you don't mind getting rid of and taking it to one of the chemical waste drop off sites. These places won't accept chemicals without them being in a safe and labeled container.

Are you imagining one of those ######s from the infomercials that can't seem to accomplish simple tasks without the awesome power of [insert great new invention here]?
I can just see ken pouring gas all over his Hush Puppies and Dockers and then lighting the match while bobbing directly over the fire pit.

why don't you pick the can you like, and mix it all in the other one and be happy with one free can.
Or personally I would pour it on Owen Nolans lawn, wait for Locke to show up, and stick a good match.

Who has that animation where the guy pours gasoline all over his crotch, lights it on fire and then his friends stomp on his nuts to put it out? You could maybe try that?

Don't the fire stations have an "amnesty" day where you can bring all of your sketchy concoctions once or twice per year?

^^ Yes. But it also involves leaving the can.
The other solution of dumping the contents into one can, the cans are both 3/4 full.

Take the lids off and let them both evaporate until you have 2 half full containers.

Take it to the dump.
The Throw-N-Go's will take it (they all have large gasoline and oil drums for doing exactly what you want)

You pull the sheets over her head and let 'er rip; hilarity ensues. Make sure you yell out "Dutch oven!"
