How fancy are you thinking of? Budgeted fancy, or money-no-object fancy?

Thanks

I wouldn't recommend Calgary Tower's restaurant because I don't think the quality of food is all that great, though mind you, its been a couple years since I've been up there. I'd only recommend you up there if you're going for the view and if you wait long enough, you can watch the sunset together.
Something Fancy, I think if you walk up and down Stephen Ave in the evening, you may find a couple there. I don't have/know specifics, just know that there are some in that area.

That's middle of the road for this city now... I was gonna suggest The Bear's Den out on Bear's Paw Road, but that might be a little pricey. You might want to try San Remo's in Oak Ridge (some people on here recommended it to me) its freaking amazing!

Capo
River Cafe
Rouge
Capo is bar none the best Italian restaurant in Calgary. River Cafe and Rouge for contemporary Canadian. Rouge gets extra points for serving stuff from their backyard (literally).
San Remo's is disgusting. Sorry.

Extremely nice restaurant!
probably around 25+ for Entree's
If that is to expensive, than "The Broken Plate" it has excellent food and incredible atmosphere.
And if you choose Brava, i highly recommend the Lamb

If you are prepared to spend the $ one of the best resturants in the region is Eden in the Rimrock Hotel in Banff. Full course meals with optional flights of wine. Their menu is available here:
http://www.rimrockresort.com/pdf/EdenMenu.pdf
I took my wife (who is a foodie) there for an anniversary and she loved it. The wine cellar is award winning and the experience was amazing. I don't know your situation with the GF but the Rimrock Resort usually has a overnight stay package bundled with meals.

$100 is a Keg dinner for 2, not anything fancier. The Keg is nice though, and that would include a drink and maybe an appy.

Yeah 100 bucks isn't really much to spend on a meal in Calgary anymore. Not for 'fancy' anyway. Especially if you're having a drink or two. One hundred bucks on just the food, now that's ok. But if you're going to get a bottle of wine or something like that, it's really going to inch into that 100 quick. Plus tax and tip, which is important the nicer the restaurant. You don't wanna look like a big spender than leave the waitress 3 bucks, lol.
Maybe you're non-drinkers I don't know.

Centini's is my favourite place right now (8th ave & 1st St SE)
You might also try Seven (8th ave & 5th St SW).
As previously mentioned, Rouge is a pretty special place.
Best regards,

I believe you are correct. I had visitors in town last month and they wouldn't even pick up the phone.
