Damn, I would love to see Mogwai... all these great bands coming to Cowtown and here I've gone and moved away.

Pretty good lineup...

The Virgin Music Festival in June is supposedly holding back a great lineup, and will release the list in the next two weeks. Rumor is that Radiohead / Thom Yorke are headlining...

Wu Tang Clan is still alive? I thought those guys disbanded a couple years back.

man, that looks awesome. I wish I still lived in Calgary...

Gutter Twins are a must-see. Greg Dulli is truly a legend, and seems to get better with age.

Deerhunter are supposed to have a crazy stage show, though I think they might have toned it down a bit as of late.

And definitely Drive-By Truckers, Mogwai, American Music Club are gonna be good.

Radiohead are touring Europe at that time. Not going to happen. http://www.radiohead.com/tourdates/

If you want to see Radiohead in Canada this summer you'll have to go to Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver. They won't be coming to Calgary - this summer, or any other for that matter.

I'm not real jazzed about the line-up for Sled Island this year. Last year's was more my kind of thing.

Probably check out Mogwai though, always wanted to see those guys.

I'm pretty excited about the festival this year, especially Broken Social Scene, Yo La Tengo, Jonathan Richman, and Elliott Brood. Here is the Mewata Stage line-up:

Friday, June 27:
Beans
The Summerlad
Broken West
Wet Secrets
Portastatic
Ramblin' Ambassadors
Yo La Tengo
Elliott Brood
Tegan and Sara
Chixdiggit
Broken Social Scene

Saturday, June 28:
Jose Gonzales
Women
Secret Machines
Still Flyin'
Drive-by Truckers
Hot Little Rocket
Gutter Twins
Jane Vain and the Dark Matter
Jonathan Richman
Scout Niblet
Of Montreal
The Fellas
Wire
The Dodos
Mogwai

Anyone else checking this out?

okerville river is playing on thursday night. I saw them a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure i'll check them out again.
I would love to buy a full all-access pass for Sled, but don't really know if I'm financially able to right now..

You could try volunteering for the festival. Last I heard, they were still looking for some volunteers, which would get you into some of the shows. Send me a private message and I'll give you a volunteer contact.

It's like the worst possible weekend for me to go see music, but at least I'll be able to go to Yo La Tengo on the Thursday. They've been a band I've wanted to see for years, but I never thought I'd get the opportunity in Calgary, I figured I'd need to go somewhere to see them.

When I saw them years ago in Ontario, they were great. They would ask the audience for requests. Thurs. show is an acoustic retrospective with Q&A, supposedly really interactive. Can't go myself, but should be awesome.

Bah, I'm away on business when the Truckers are playing. That's a real shame. They're such a great band. Hopefully they come back next year.
