Default Skate Widening / punching question

Ok so i got my first pair of Grafs in the mail today. It was a impulse buy and the price was too good to pass up . My questions is this... I sized down half a size and they feel pretty good. The only problem is they might be a smidge small in the toe cap. Is there a way to stretching out and make it wider? How would I do it ? Will it mess with the integrity of the boot? LMK ... Thanks

I live in Oklahoma .. I was just curious if it was possible and I could bring them with me at Christmas ... or drive to a pro shop in Dallas.

Yeah, I'm sure any pro shop can do it. I would go to the more reputable ones though, so they don't eff your boot up.

Back when i used to play a lot, a few of the guys would go sock-less. might be worth a try.

i know its the toe but have you tried wearing them around for a bit? have you tried skating in them?
As you wear and skate they will break in and you may find them to be no problem at all.
What im thinking specifically is the padding in the back will wear in and form to your foot, allowing more room in the skate so your toes wont be as far into the toe cap.
that or the motion of skating will simply make it so this issue doesnt exist as opposed to walking.

If you are the member im thinking of, im assuming this is your first new pair of skates. give them time before you try anything on them. Skates just like (but more so) work or cowboy boots need to be broken in and they will typically have an adjustment period before they feel totally comfortable

Yeah, you might even want to go and get them fitted properly. If the heel in the boot isn't molded to your foot, you might find that after this breaks in, you won't need that extra room in the toe.

When you put your skate on, make sure you kick your heel back as far as it can go.

2nd pair of New sktates.. I bought a pair off CCM u+07 in may -ish. I really like them and they fit but they are a 9.5 . They are a lil loose in the heel which is why when I got offered these skates and this price at a size 9 , I jumped! Hopefully i can bake them and wear them and they will loosen up in the toes. I just got them yesterday so I have not got a chance to wear them or anything.

The problem with skates I've found is they are like shoes, different brands may have slightly different sizes. When you buy a pair of Grafs from a pro shop they will typically heat mold them to your feet, helping with the break-in process. If there is nowhere close to have this done you can do it yourself with your oven. I've done this once years ago and it does work, but obviously you have to be careful. Google found this http://www.coloradoavalanchecares.co...kates-at-home/ As mentioned I am one of those that goes barefoot in my skates, I find that as you sweat the skate almost molds to your foot. I started doing this when I was 15, however it's not for everyone.
