It's been rumoured Higgins would join the Stamps taking on the dual role of head coach as well as director of football operations.

However, that isn't the case and as of late last night the current ownership group decided Higgins would be better suited to concentrate on managing the team.

Calgary defensive coordinator Denny Creehan's believed to be the man targeted as the Stamps next head coach and while the job hasn't been offered to him as of yet, he is considered to be the leading candidate.

I would be much more in favour of Creehan taking over control than that guy from up north. Higgins doesn't seem to fit well. He isn't a guy who likes to blitz and that doesn't work well with what Creehan will do. Creehan and John Grace were the two best things about this team last year, and it would be nice to see both rewarded. Creehan with the head coaching job and Grace with a nice new multi-year contract.
