Argos sign Mike Vanderjagt, Prefontaine traded to Eskimos
http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=2393...=secStory_main
As everyone here knows, i'm a diehard Colts fan and the year after Vanderjagt left, we won the Superbowl with Vinatieri as our kicker. Vanderjagt blew the game against the Steelers by missing the tying kick in the playoffs and that was it for him. He's a great kicker but has a poor attitude and I was glad when he left and Vinatieri came in. Vanderjagt should do a great job for the Argos.

^ Yup, I remember that very well. That was in response to Vanderjagt's outburst on an interview on The Score where he said a whole bunch of stuff about the team including things about Peyton and his ability to win. So glad "Vanderjerk" wasn't around to win the Superbowl a year after he was gone.

So now the esks have pretty much traded for every available kicker in the CFL/NFL.
Their going to line 3 kickers up at once and the other team will have to guess which one is going to actually kick the ball.

Amazing how fast someones career changes.
Mike Vanderjagt, was one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history, he shanks a few in big games and he's never recovered since and now he's relegated to kicking in the CFL.

well he came back to where it all started for him.
the idiot kicker probably has enough money but wants to play, not good enough for NFL now so the next best thing.
trvia, should be easy, without looking it up, whos the only canadian kicker in the NFL now? i think hes the only one.

and the other aspect is that career washout Duncan O'Mahoney is released.
I really hate that guy for some reason.

I often think of Adam Vinatieri and how he was let go by the Patriots and later picked up by the Colts. Kickers in the NFL have to be a tough breed when you consider they keep getting dumped by one team and picked up by another.
If Vanderjagt preforms well during his tenure in the CFL, who knows, some NFL team might give him another shot.

The Patriots never let him go, they wanted him back. Adam left NE as a free agent to sign with the Colts. The NE owner was sad when Vinatieri left as a free agent.
Here's an article on the Patriots website from '06 one day after he left.

Heh pretty much, it seems to me that Danny Moochacha has no idea what the hell he's doing, instead of doing his homework and drafting, developing a kicker or going and getting "his guy," he's just blindly trading for any kicker he can find, in the hopes that he'll get lucky and one of them pans out.
Seriously: O'Mahony?!?!?!?! Had he not traded for Prefontaine (who by the way had a horrible season last year kicking wise) would he actually have given place duties to O'Mahony? I find that hard to believe.
And what about this Warren Kean who was suposed to be the next big thing after going 2nd overall?
