Wow! Close game!!

Congrats!! For those of us that have been around a long time, who would've imagined that the Sharks would be the champs? What a honor for Ryan.

And Mr. Doug is nothing to boo at either - congrats to you on a stellar season and playoffs.

Well glad to see it was at least a close game, not that it matters when you're on the losing end. Unbelievable job by the Sharks this year to win it all. Congrats to Doug on another solid season and a great playoff run too.

Congrats to Ryan!!!! An absolutely amazing 1 year turn around. An unbelievable performance. Congrats on winning it all!!

To Doug, you get my congrats as well for nearly winning it all as well. You did a great job in Carolina. I know the loss might sting a little as you got so close, but you did an amazing job with the Hurricane team this year.

Congrats to both of you.

8th seed in the West wins the cup! Amazing

And really amazing considering where they were this time last year. I wasn't a GM yet, but I was following things before I got a spot and saw what dire straits the Sharks were in.

The Bitter Taste of Defeat

Heart, Determination, Desire, Pride… are all traits of a warrior. It’s the combined motivation that becomes the driving force that allows one self to rise above the odds, to overcome expectations, to stand victorious above your opposition…. To be the best, to be the one team left standing, to be champions.

To stand before that day, after 24 battles and 4 wars and winner takes all. Do or Die… You want to go out swinging and leave nothing left in the tank…

When it doesn’t happen that way, it’s a tough pill to swallow and a tough loss.

San Jose Sharks
Congratulations Ryan, normally wouldn’t find another GM more excited to see the Sharks succeed then I. As is well documented, the state of the San Jose franchise before you took over was a league embarrassment…. Far worse then the situation in Winnipeg right now. Your success will give strength to the new GM that takes over ownership of that team. As a 9th place seed team, you were the bottom seed team in all four rounds throughout the playoffs and not only did to thrive at that but you also dominated those games. Hats off to you and I look forward to seeing the Sharks among the league elite next year.

Commissioners
Grant, Kris – thanks for the all the time and effort it takes to input our lines and run off the games each day. It’s a royal pain and something that we that don’t have to do it sometimes don’t realize how good we have it. You’ve guys have made a lot of small changes to this league as you’ve taken charge… and changes for the good.. and answering my many questions
Jeff – Thanks for all those UFA processes. With a league wide scope of GM’s always trying to get the upper hand on the next undiscovered gem and having to deal with 31 other GM’s as we wait impatiently by as we nag you about getting them into the league.. and my constant questions
Sly – man, I don’t know how you put up with my steady stream of moving my 4th line pylon to RW, then to C, back to RW then finally over to D for every time I find another pisspoor sportsnet article. Cheers

Oh and one more last thing, and this really does suck doing this

Default Your 2008 CPHL Champions!

Wow! I honestly cannot believe we won the CPHL Cup!! It's an honor and very proud moment for the San Jose Sharks!

Cheechoo congratulates "Belfour" on a job well done. Cheechoo scored the game, and series, winner with only 4 minutes left in the game.

It was a long, hard-fought playoff throughout and no one put up as much of a challenge as the Carolina Hurricanes. Luckily for us, Belfour was able to hold the fort in the last game while only being 99% ready and the offense and defense played well enough to get the victory.

The Sharks will now take a few days to celebrate before deciding when each player will take the cup with them on their travels during the summer break.

Congrats to Doug for taking a young up-and-coming team within one goal of the CPHL Cup! The Canes will surely be a powerhouse in the near future with the amount of young talent they have on the verge of being star players.

After all that hard work and bonding as a team, there are big changes expected from the Sharks head office as they look to cut salaries to get under cap for the beginning of next season. Who remains a Shark and who doesn't is yet to be seen, but for now it's time to celebrate!!!

Thanks to Grant for simming all the games even when his team was out and he needed surgery on his knee!! You're a great guy to have at the helm! Thanks to KG for the time he put in as well. I'm sure it's not all fun and games behind the scenes for you guys.

Thanks also, to everyone else and their kind words throughout the playoffs. I know it's not easy watching teams other than your own moving on and I appreciate the time spent on posting and following along throughout!

Oh, and thanks to Doug for that beautiful job on my Championship banner! That looks awesome!!

You guys both have a lot to be proud of. Ryan, that turnaround in San Jose will not be forgotten anytime soon. That was incredible. Doug, you had patience with your team and it paid off, going the distance in the Stanley Cup Finals. Great job, both of you.

Congrats to the Sharks and Ryan!! What a team. That Ohlund addition was key IMO, he played well in the finals. And of course the goalie tandem. Well done.

It is reassuring to know that we lost to the best team.

Congrats also to Doug and the Canes. You took it to the very end, quite an acheivement.

Congrats to the Sharks.... I have to say that a couple of my "pity" trades early in the season got you rolling
