UFC 84: Ill Will
Aside from the lamest name of all time I am quite excited for this card.
For the Lightweight Championship
BJ 'The Prodigy' Penn Vs. Sean 'The Muscleshark' Sherk
BJ, by way of a far superior nickname.
Wanderlei 'The Axe Murderer' Silva Vs. Keith 'The Dean Of Mean' Jardine
Wandy by TKO in the 3rd.
Wilson Gouveia Vs. Goran Reljic
I don't know a lot about Goran Reljic, but Gouveia is pretty scary. BJJ Black Belt who would rather bang than tap you out are awesome.
Tito 'The Huntington Beach Homo, errr, Badboy' Ortiz Vs. Lyoto 'The Dragon' Machida
Please please please please knock Jacob C. ‘Tito’ Ortiz the eff out. Please. I am excited for this fight as well.
Thiago Silva Vs. Antonio Mendes
I don't know a lot about Mendes but Silva is 11-0 and 3-0 in the UFC. Hopefully will be a good fight and Silva will get a crack at a bigger name soon so we can see if he is for real.
Undercards - May Not Be Televised:
I am not super familiar with a lot of the under card fighters. I have only recently started to get caught up on Price and other promotions so I am still learning about lots of the fighters.
Ivan Salaverry Vs. Rousimar Palhares
Rameau Sokoudjou Vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura
I hope this match is one of the televised ones. Hopefully Soko doesn't gas, if he is well conditioned this could be a great fight.
Rich Clementi Vs. Terry Etim
Jon Koppenhaver Vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
Jason Tan Vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Christian Wellisch Vs. Shane Carwin
This fight is awesome. Two heavyweights, one wanting to go to law school and the other and Engineer who hold 2 degrees. Hopefully one of the two or both can help fill out the heavyweight division.
I am going to be watching this card for sure at a buddies house. Anyone else going to be watching? What do you think of this card?

Apparently Tito Ortiz has a victory celebration planned that he says will have him escorted out by security should he pull it off. Kind of makes me want to see him win just to see what he does to try and get under Dana White's skin even further.

Wow, he did nothing....and actually sounded like he was taking a bit of high ground with the whole feud...as high as he can go anyway.
He got pretty close with that triangle...but also got lucky the 1st round wasn't a few seconds longer. He looked like he was done.
Good fight though.
and [Thiago] Silva owned in the fight before.

Ortiz lost to Machida. Ortiz didn't do much the whole time and Machida looked pretty impressive. Ortiz had a chance to submit in the last 30 seconds of the last round but fumbled, other than that he didn't do anything.

The Axe Murderer DESTROYS Jardine. I think Jardine was out longer than the fight. Wow, heck of a punch and a class guy.
Brasilians vs the world in the PPV, they are 4-1 (sorta 4-2 as one of the bouts was Brasialian vs Brasilian).
Palhares Is a guy to watch in the future. Nice submission and damn fast.

I know winners are:
Wanderlei Silva
Reljic
Machida
T Silva
Palhares
I missed one of the undercard matches they showed earlier...I think Carwin won in 45 seconds.

Penn right at the end of the 3rd. Left hand, right upper cut, Shark bounces off the cage and Penn smokes him with a massive knee and then pounds him a couple. Horn goes but it's over.
Penn ruled the fight from the get go. Says to Shark after "you can come train with me anytime."
Post Match he gives Shark his due. And then Rogan asks him if he's going to step up in weight and fight GSP. he says "whatever the fans want" so that's a potential down the road...me thinks he'll get killed if he fights GSP.
Shark post match says he didn't hear the horn go and seems to have no idea what happened at the end. he's coming back for sure.
A couple of class guys in the end

Machida was far from impressive, unless you were buying into the cheer leading he was getting from Mike Goldberg. A fight like that is the reason why I think the 10 point system has no place in a MMA 3 round fight. fights like that should be ruled a draw, neither fighter showed me anything to say that they "won" the fight. Aside for the last 10 seconds of the 1st round there was nothing in the first two rounds that showed that either fighter won the fight... but yet only one round of those two will decide the winner.
By all means not a knock on the fighters, i was excited about the fight and as much as styles sometimes makes fights, sometimes they prevent them also.
Neither fighter looked impressive and neither fighter showed anything to win the fight. Under a 10 point system I understand the decision to Machida but no way did anyone win that fight

Impressive can sometimes be a strong word, I'll use surprise instead.
I was surprised how little Ortiz did. I was surprised how Machida seemed to frustrate him constantly and allow him nothing. Machida would be in with a couple of hits and out. He also looked stronger than the bigger Ortiz, pushing him around in the couple of times they got close. I was also surprised at the liver shot, the triangle, and the escape.
Was it an exciting tow to toe fight? Nope, but it had some moments and there was skill displayed throughout.
