Really? I actually thought it was alright..I was a big fan of the show at times, but didn't really like it towards the end. I'm curious to see what this new one is all about.

One of my room-mates at UBC turned down a job offer to be Gillian's personal assistant. Fool. I would have taken the job in a second.

The series finale was such crap, IMO. Then again, most of them are.
The first movie was on TV recently and I definitely didn't like it this time around.

Hmmm I can't decide. I use to love that show and thought the first movie was pretty good. But the last two seasons were so terrible. Plus, if I remember correctly, didn't Mulder and Scully pretty much just run away to end the series? I don't know how they'll keep the continuity true (or believable, which was becoming an increasing problem with the series).

Not really excited about this, and I'm guessing it will be a mess.
The series was terrific to the point, but it really went about a season to long, and added to many characters to the mix which made it about as diluted as $1.00 American beer.
The movie was ok, but they removed the mystery about the Aliens and the Alien conspiracy, its almost like Carter knew this was his final pay day with X-Files and blew his entire load over script paper in a massive nerdgasm.
Now this movie is coming out with little hype, or really very little buildup, and the fact that they are being so secretive about it, kind of tells me that they have little confidence in the script of this movie.
Its also been a long time since the X-Files was on anyone's minds, and I think that the quality of the show has really been surpassed over the last few years in terms of conspiracy arched shows.
I'm betting it has a big opening weekend and then fades to the discount bin at walmart very quickly.

I can't wait! X-Files was my #2 show of alltime (behind Stargate SG-1). Now that I think about it, the last time I was at a theatre was the first X-Files movie back in 1998 (I really dislike theatres, don't ask why lol). Crikey that's a long time. I think it's time to break that streak when this movie comes out.
