Default High-Res satellite images of Calgary - Multimap.com

Stumbled upon this wicked site. Although it doesn't have as many areas covered as google maps, when it comes to clarity, it blows them out of the water. Check out the stampede grounds:

Or the EDO Japan in Westhills that I ate lunch at today...

I'd show you my house, but you can look yourself at how clear and close it is..

Cool, thanks for the link! So, now to figure out when these pics were taken...(though they might span a few years).

If you go to some major US cities, like Seattle, you can get a birds eye view.

I figure since the bridges at Stony Trail & 16th Ave are underway, that puts it 2 years ago. The stampede is on, so I'd guess July, 2006.

Well, I can see my old Pontiac Bonneville in front my house, so that would have been earlier than Dec '06.

You can get the bird's eye view for Calgary at http://maps.live.com

It's a nice tool if you're looking for a house.

Willowpark was definitely taken in summer of 06 as I had my car and it made it into the picture

Hmmm the pic of my building appears to be later (or earlier I guess, less recent) than 05 or 06, I imagine some spots are updated more than others. There's landscaping on the grounds that hasn't been that way in some time.

That's amazing!

Does anyone know if they plan to expand the images from cities like Calgary to cover the entire city?

The Encana tower (The Bow) is still a parking lot. So this is pretty old.

This must be Summer of 05 or 06.

Edit; the Bow started construction on May 9th last year.

Ours is from Summer of '07 I believe.

The iWireless Center, home of the QC Flames (in BirdsEye).

If you click 3d, you get this kind of view.

As much as I hate to say it, you're better off using the real MS Virtual Earth version of the site, because that multimap just reuses the Microsoft images and kind of makes the site less easy to use.

Confirmed. It shows one trench dug for the foundation wall of my garage; which would put it between the May long weekend and mid-July.

Late July '06 in Fairview

We moved into our house March '06 and planted a berry patch that summer which is on the photo. I also planted a small Maple tree that I can see, but my deck isn't on the photo, built last spring.

It must be late July, because my wife was doing a tonne of work in the yard, but the bed along the driveway doesn't show up which was put in in August '06. However, most of the other work she did that summer is on the picture so it must have been in a fairly small window in late July.
