Default Burger Eating Competition......Help Please

As some of you know, I work for a radio station here in Vancouver, and I'm the producer of the morning show. During the year, we are doing 5 on air bets and I lost the first one which was bowling. I then in turn had to sell papers at a busy intersection for charity. Next Wednesday, we are doing a burger eating competion at White Spot(very big in BC, I know you have a couple in Calgary) and we are eating the new BBQ Bacon Burger: 4 oz patty, cheese and 4 strips of bacon(because apparently 2 isn't enough.)

Anyways, it's 90 minutes, most eaten burgers wins 1st place and a gift card to White Spot. Second place gets a pat on the back and third place has to be a car hop at a White Spot with proceeds going to charity.

i need help here. The competition starts at Noon and Im up for work at 4am. Do I eat anything at all in the morning?? the night before?? Do I drink anything?? Is there any kind of supplement that I could take that would give me some kind of edge. I'm totally in the dark on this kind of stuff, I need help.

I'd start by going to costco and getting one of these:

yes. you have to stretch your stomache out. Eat lots for a few days in advance even to help stretch it out, and have a fairly hearty breakfast that morning. Everything should be out of your stomache by noon if you're up that early and you'll start to feel empty again.

Eat a larger than usual (but healthy) meal the night before. When you wake up, drink LOTS of fluids; this will keep your stomach stretched out but won't fill you up as it will pass through you by the time the competition rolls around.

That's all the help I can offer.

Eating contests aren't just about how much food you can eat, but how fast you can eat it. This means bigger bites and less chewing, unfortunately. This is why people who are serious competitive eaters always dip their hot-dogs in lemonade--to soften the bun and make it easier to swallow.

So--my advice is to dip the burgers in lemonade. Disgusting, I know--but how important is winning to you?

I don't think that would be an issue with a 90 minute time limit...everybody's gunna get full first.

Bulimia is your friend. Remember, Masticate and then Evacuate.

The 2 finger diet and all that. The trick is doing it without your competition noticing.

I read an article from one of those competitive food eaters that the night before they will eat a ton of grapes to stretch their stomach, plus it doesn't fill them up as much as other things. I guess you could try that.

Dip the burger in water

That's what they do in those professional eating competitions

I would probably starve myself the day of comeptition. That and be sure to have water on hand to wash it down.

Good luck!

I forget how long ago it was (probably two or three years?), to raise money for CP, he had to eat many, many, Junior Bacon's from Wendy's. Poor guy.

Indeed. the heartburn and indigestion must have been brutal afterwards. But hey, he took one for the team

I think that Coca-Cola is your friend here. My theory is that the Coke will eat away at the burgers in your stomach and make room for more burgers.

My friends and I did something stupid like this when we were younger and that was my winning theory!

Good luck!

By the way, White Spot and the Calgary restaurants with the same name are NOT the same franchise (unless something has changed in the past five years). White Spot BC is a superior establishment, thanks to highly addictive additives that is a staple part of their "Triple-O" sauce.
