Cell Phone Battery

I have a Motorola Razr through telus that is getting to be a few years old. I charge it every night, and sometimes if I use it a lot during the day, I have to charge it more often then that.
Thus I'm thinking I need a new battery for my phone. A simple google search left me a bit confused. I found a lot of batteries, but even the ones for sale on amazon.com had plenty of bad reviews (not OEM, doesnt hold charge, won't charge at all etc...)
Does anyone know of a good resource where I can buy a new quality batter for my phone?

If its a few years old, why don't you just get a new phone. A new krazor is like 50 bucks, Im sure you wouldn't save much buying a new battery.

Well a Krazr is actually $350... I refuse to sign a 3 yr. contract again (they're $79 with one). My last 3 year contract just expired less than a month ago, and I'm already on the second phone of said contract.
I did think about buying a new phone (possibly switching providers), but other than a short battery life, my phone is still a good one and works fine. It hasn't reached Zach Morris standards of outdatedness quite yet.
The few sites I did look at, batteries were only $17 or so.

Check ebay, found a new battery for my old phone there for 8 bucks plus 12 shipping

yeah, easiest way would be to find a replacement battery on ebay.

3rd for eBay. Just make sure the auction shows the battery as OEM, the seller has 99.9% or higher feedback (because there's a bazillion battery sellers to choose from), and don't be afraid to ask the seller a question. Be polite, and just make them sure they know your concerns. If the seller is selling legit batteries then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

And ignore any seller who tells you his batteries work as good or better then OEM.

One more thing, if buying from a US seller, make sure he ships using USPS.

I found some stuff for my father-in-law's old LG phone from a site that I had a good experience with. Good prices, prompt shipping. He's had no problems with the new battery or the new charger since he got them late last year. The name escapes me right now, I'll check my email at home and see if I can't track it down for you.

See if you can find a cheap pay & talk phone with teh same style battery.

I did that for my LG8100 a while back.

75.00 for a new phone battery from Telus. 60.00 for a generic one at Battery world.

I did some research (actually I think someone on here told me) and found that the LG125 has the same type of battery as the LG8100.

I found a new LG125 Pay & talk at Future shop for 29.99.

Back in the days of Star Tac phones being cool and batteries only lasting a day or two, I bought several. I found most of the non-OEM batteries seemed to drain down just a little quicker, and within 2 years they were pretty much toast; whereas my OEM ones lasted well- sure a 6 year old battery doesn't work as well as new, but my original 6 year old one would outlast a non-OEM 6 month old one.

Then one non-OEM I got, after a few weeks the phone would power up with "invalid main battery." It would still work, but you never had any idea how much battery life was left.

I have great experience buying generic batteries on eBay. I have never bought one for a cell phone, but I have for various other products.

One example is for my Sony camera. A new Sony branded battery would have cost me $90. I bought two generic batteries and paid less than $20, including shipping. I figured that even if they didn't hold a charge as long or had a life half as long as the Sony brand I would be fine. They turned out to be just as good as the Sony batteries (without doing extensive timing tests).

Well thanks for all the replys everyone! I'll have to check out ebay... I have never used it before, but I have a friend who has, so I guess I'll just have to take everyone's suggestions here and take a look with him sometime.
