Default Should I toss it?

I'm cleaning up at home and have a computer that has been unused for about four years. Hasn't even been turned on for that long. I don't remember when I got it or what it has, but it's about 8-9 years old. The monitor is still good and I'll keep it but should I toss my computer? Is there somewhere I could donate it? Is it of any value to some organization?

You may want to pull out the hard drive (a pretty easy procedure).

You don't want somebody installing it and finding your personal information. And a hard drive that old will be obsolete so with drive space so cheap now, it would need to be replaced anyways.

I have to agree with you there,

I feel the same way about all of these Hospital Lotteries.....

Our gov't should be ashamed that these places have to raise money in this fashion while the gov't coffers are overunning with cash.

As far as the donated computers are concerned, back in my day we had 25 computers for the entire school of 500 kids and class sizes of 30-35. meaning even when we did get computer class 2 times per week; not every kid got to use his own computer.

Plus having worked in IT, we've had computers regected because they weren't powerfull enough; the schools have better offers all the time.

I would guess Money Guy's PC would be stripped and either melted down, or turned into some sort of vending machine.

Possibly, but people have no problem shelling out 250$ for these lotto tickets, yet if you tried to increase taxes 250$ they'd be protests in the streets.
