Yeah I'd love to have something like that, the problem is getting the scores in the first place.
The most direct route is to manually put it in and update it, but that's not really a great option, an automatic method is better.
I haven't found a convenient source of course that would be easy to read and syndicate though.
One option is to write a program to parse the scores from NHL.com or some other website, but the problems with that are a) it usually violates their "license agreement" that you supposedly agree to by viewing the site and b) it takes time to write that software and maintain it, if they change their format usually the program has to change too.
A better option would be an XML feed or something but I've never found a good free one, the good ones are usually expensive.
I do keep looking though, and if someone has ideas I'd love to hear em.

Cry more n00b!
Spending hundreds of dollars a month for a live scoreboard would be nice, but that would require hundreds of dollars more a month than my budget.
If you can find a free or nearly free data source, I'd be all over it.

Tell me about it. It's like a big scam business or something, I suspect that they all just buy it from a few big ones and resell it.

Hm, that one's not too bad. I'll see what the guys say about using that one until we can get one of our own.

I think photon should dedicate his evenings to sitting on the computer and manually updating the scores in CP's own little score ticker.

Hm, that one is a bit better in that it's easier to see the scores on a really small one.
