Default Guy proposes to girl with reprogrammed video game

Nerdy and cute. Do you think this is better or worse than proposing at a sporting event?

One guy, a software programmer in Jersey City named Bernie Peng, reprogrammed his girlfriend Tammy's favorite video game, Bejeweled, so a ring and a marriage proposal would show up on the screen when she reached a certain score. Tammy reached the score... and said yes. Congratulations to the happy couple

Reminds me. I haven't played BeJewelled in awhile.

Most video game companies would frown on people manipulating their games," said Garth Chouteau, a spokesman for PopCap. "But it won him a woman. As a bunch of geeks we have to say, 'Bernie, hats off to you.'"

So very funny.

I think since the couple is into video games, that this is better than a sporting event.
Does anyone think that a sporting event is a good idea? The only way I could see it being so, was if the couple either met at a game, or their first date was at one.

And there is always the risk of the woman saying no and then being featured on a national sports channel

The harshest part my be having your sports idol laugh at you afterwards (notice McGrady)

If you're going to do some sort of public proposal, you had better be 100% sure she's going to say yes.

I think in any good relationship where one is going to propose. They are 100% sure they will say yes. Public or private.

See a marriage proposal go all wrong during a baseball game at Yankee stadium...courtesy of prank wars!

I heard that was all staged though, they have done it a few times at different events.

He's just playing hard to get. You should stalk him. That'll PROVE you're serious.

Instead of a ring, he should have used a +2 broadsword which casts level 5 fire resistance. The ring probably didn't have any buffs on it at all.

They can do the whole Klingon wedding

Klingon priest or whatever - "Do you Dork son of geek take this Patach as your lawfully wedded wife to use as you may and then shoot her out of the airlock when you tire of her?"

Nerd - "Kaplah"

Klingon Priest - "By the power invested in me by the high council, I now prounce you Klingon and Voraatchs or whatever it is . . . Bullies you may now wedgie the groom"

Nerd - "I'm so excited I'm going to touch my first boob tonight and it only took me 40 years to do it"
