It's because of the Olympic Hall of fame induction tonight at the round up centre. Me and the Wife just got back from the event.

The Tower will be lit from 10:30 until midnight to honour the Olympians.

Kind of ironic - after reading the initial post, I stepped out onto my balcony to see if we could see the Calgary Tower from our balcony and discovered two fire trucks parked below my building and smoke rising from a balcony below me. Looks like an illegal outdoor firepot or something caught the balcony on fire or something. So instead of seeing the Calgary Tower flame, I got to experience the rancid smoke of localized flames.

Not fun.
