No kidding.
One of those cases where she lied and bluffed the judge into thinking she was held against her will by the big mean male boyfriend.

She should've gotten a worse penalty then Bernardo, because she masterminded this and "enjoyed" all of this seemingly as much or more then Bernardo. She probably befriended the girls and sucked them into the situation where the girls were then helpless.....but, the standard fare is that the men are the mastermind and the perverted ones, so she gets off easy.

Plus, helping drug part of your family so that the can be taken advatage of is disgusting.

However, sounds like she found a perfect match in prison....one of those two will probably kill the other within a year.

I read a book about Bernardo and Homolka. While it's true that he smacked her around, she was evidently one of those freaky chicks that had a fetish for it. There were also some videos where she was the one forcing the girls to do things to her.

The thing I don't understand is that Bernardo was so obviously guilty. There was a magnitude of physical evidence - so why did they even need to offer Homolka a deal for her testimony? It makes no sense.

The found the evidence shorty after (very shortly) here plea bargin. Prior to the plea bargain they had not found the tapes.
