Yeah but for those you might have to go to a more big location, I know Scotiabank only does American, but you can do whatever downtown.

Are the big banks (TD Canada Trust, Scotia Bank, Royal Bank, BMO) the best? How are the specialty ones (Globex, Calforex) - are they better?

Of the major banks, is there any one better then the other for the currency I'm looking for or are they all the same? I have bank accounts with all of those anyways (don't ask me why).

I wouldn't take out anything beyond the euro before going to those places and even then not very much. Bank machines are everywhere and then you won't have a bunch of money with you all the time.

I've heard Calforex is the best, but I'm wondering what the cutoff is, because it seems they charge a one time fee with every transaction. For large amounts I don't think they can be beat, not sure about smaller amounts.

I've always found my bank to have the lowest fees for exchange. Some of the other posters may be right about the idea that you'll need to go downtown for many of those currencies.

I've never used Calforex, but I used Thomas Cook once, and it was more expensive than going to TD Canada Trust. Not be a ton, but enough that I figured, it was worth it just to go to my bank the next time.
