High School Reunions?
I was just wondering if anyone here has ever had to plan a high school reunion. My 10 year reunion is coming up in 09 (wow I feel old!) and a friend and I were looking to plan something for it. What kind of events did you have when you went to a high school reunion and how did you pay for everything, how did you find everyone and stuff like that. Any advice would be helpful. It's only a class of 45 so it shouldn't be too hard, I just don't know where to start.

We had a two day reunion.
The first night was the typical get back together at the school, drink beer in the cafeteria, go to all of your classrooms where the teachers that we had were waiting, and we could sit back and have a cold one with the teachers.
The next day, they set up a picnic at Heritage Park, and everyone could bring their significant others and their kids, it was actually pretty nice.
That night we had a dance, which was nice, they had a slide show of old mullet headed pictures, our validictorian (sp?) got up and made a 10 year after speech (he'd been contacting people for weeks leading up to it looking for what had happened between then and now). It was a nice sit down casual thing.
Our 20th was just a get together at a pub and a lot smaller, no formalities or anything like that.

My 20th was last year but we didn't do anything. (or maybe I wasn't invited...)
Still holding out hope for the 25. Would be kinda tough though as most of my class has scattered across the continent.

My 25th is next summer. Good gravy, I am old.
Our 10th reunion was amusing -at COP. The "popular" kids put on the event, and awarded themselves all the trophies.

I can't wait to go to mine in three years, and show all those cruel popular kids how successfully bald, fat, and underemployed I've become. =)

At my 20th we rented a hall and held a dinner and dance type thing.
On the second day we had a family day down at Fish Creek park.
The interesting thing about the reunions is getting to see who suceeded and who didn't. I remember the class clown ending up as a heart specialist in Florida.

I went to a private school and the graduating class was only 64 students, so they are no high school reunions. However, the school had a 25th year of the school reunion, that I did not attend, why would I want to see any of the little that I hated back then??

I think it was more pity - most of us had gone on to become doctors, engineers, lawyers, parents etc, and the "cool" kids had not accomplished much. They never really left high school.

'86 or '04? My University convocation was the day after the '04 loss (so June 8th) and it was all people could talk about--a few even wore Flames jerseys under their gowns!

My 10 year Beaverbrook reunion is coming up in June. Sadly I won't be in Calgary to attend. It is a dinner being held at Ranchman's (near the school) and tickets are being sold for $40. I say just get Owen Hargreaves to foot the bill for everyone.

Is he actually coming to it? I remember playing soccer with/against him way back when. I taught him everything he knows.

We had a two day event as well. First night with graduates only and then spouses second day. First night was at the school and the second was a catered dinner. I didn't attend the dinner but enjoyed the Friday night get together.
That was over 15 years ago so things may have changed.

I am planning mine, but am not a fountain of knowledge at this point. Talk to me again in November when I've either created the greatest party ever, or bombed, and owe Incinerator lots and lots of money.
