Default Virus Software--Which One?

I have Vista Premium. On my computer with XP I was using AVG for free and it seemed to work great (no viruses, not too slow).

What virus software should I be using, will AVG cut it?

Will McCafee or Norton have any issues with slowing down a quad core with 3 gigs of ram?

AVG Free is fine.

Norton and McAfee will slow your machine down terribly.

Norton works for me and doesn't slow my machine down.

I ditched Norton a few years ago. As soon as I loaded something else, it found a few viruses that, while they hadn't been triggered, had been sitting on my drive for quite a while. We just turfed Symantec at work as well.

There are free products that work as well or better. Symantec (Norton) have lived off their name for a long time.

I hate Norton and everything involved with it.

I switched about a year ago to NOD32, it's not bloated like Norton, updates daily and I haven't ever had a problem with it.

I recommend it, you guys should try it out.
