Default Violent Crime In Alberta: Down; Sask is worst province for crime

The CBC has this on their web site today. Violent crime in Alberta is not significantly different than in the '90s. Shockingly, the rate of violent crime per person is almost twice as high in Saskatchewan as in Alberta.

Maclean's published their findings a couple weeks ago on various crimes across Canada.

http://www.macleans.ca/article.jsp?c...12_162114_5536

Edmonton was 5th in overall crimes, Toronto was 26th and Calgary was 33rd.

I ain't gonna lie sirs, it is bad, very bad. I went to one of the rougher cities on the West.. lots of gangs, lots of drugs.. lots of violence.

Very fortunate I haven't been stabbed, been stabbed at but I am to quick!

Seriously though, it isn't a lie, we have a very bad gang ratio in this city.

I know eh! Rampant gang violence, random killings, the start of world war three right here in Calgary!

I think the main proponents of this line of thinking are the kind of people that are usually on the 'against' side of any new development anywhere near them. They'd prefer the world pass them by and that any new developments must be evil in some way. We even had loud voices over the past couple of years trying to convince everyone that an economic boom is overall a bad thing and that growing pain issues are worse than had we been in a state of economic stagnation.

You can make "statistics" and "facts" say anything you want but I know the truth.

Society is going to hell in a handbasket.

We need to get tough on crime.

The Young Offenders do anything they want and get a slap on the wrist.

Our prisons are country clubs.

We care more about the rights of the criminal than the rights of the victim.

I blame the parents and our liberal "anything goes" society. And video games.

When I was a kid you used your fists to settle a dispute. Now they use guns.

We've got drugdealers in every schoolyard pushing their poison on our children.

Old people are afraid to leave their homes.

Gun control has left the average citizen helpless and armed the criminals.
