Default How much storage on telus webmail site?

I'll be away and unable to get to a computer and unable to pick up my email from the telus webmail site for about 10 days. Roughly how many emails will the site store before I've reached capacity? 200, 300, 400? I do get quite a bit of email and don't want it bouncing back to my senders. There are sometimes attachments but not usually too large.

If it's only for 10 days you should be ok. It's not based on the number of emails, it's based on storage size. If it's anything like Shaw, you should be ok for sometime even with attachments.

Google is 6 gb, and that's free...So if I can use any logic whatsoever, Telus should be much more than that...

I fail to see your logic there HHH.

Telus' webmail is a temporary solution to view your mail if you cannot get to your computer. Google is designed to be a web based mail service.

Yes, they are both email systems; but they are really apples and oranges.

Not sure about Telus, but Shaw allows 30 MB on their webmail. So using my logic on a lateral comparison, I would think Telus would be the same.

Oh God, it wouldn't be anywhere near 6 Gig. I had 10 meg as a number but I'm sure it's a tad higher than that.

So what? People store their email on their computer on this type of set up? I've never used anything but hotmail and now gmail...I guess I'm out to lunch.

Okay, if it's 30 MB, roughly how many emails can I store if about one in six to one in eight contains an attachment, which are usually PDF files? I know this is an inexact science (= guess) but I'm looking for an idea of number. Maybe several hundred, in which case I won't have to worry about it.

That's impossible to know - it depends upon the size of the pdf files. Are you talking single page PDFs?

Edit: just looking on my system, I have a 6 page release notes PDF that is 64KB and a 600 page that is 4073 KB.

If you assume 10KB or 11KB per page, you may get an idea how much space each PDF will use.

Ya but those types of accounts don't actually d/l the message to your computer. When using outlook or thunderbird, you generally d/l the message to your computer and then that message is deleted from your IP's email server.

Whole different animal.
