Default Tips on a jogging stroller?

Anyone on CP with some tips on what to look for in a jogging stroller?

We might buy used, so anything to look for there would also be appreciated.

We have a really good all terrain stroller that isn't terribly functional for jogging and the wife and I joined a running clinic and this is something we can do as a family so we want to shoot ourselves in the foot by getting something sub-par.

I'm also aware that with baby stuff, price does not necessarily have anything to do with quality.

Directly from the bosses mouth:

The "Chariot" is the best. Apparently you can use this thing for biking and cross country skiing as well. I guess it's the transformer of running strollers. We call ours Optimus Prime.

Another recommendation for Chariot. They've got tons of add ons as well. You can get a towing package for the bicycle, rain covers, all sorts of stuff.

Look for used ones and if you see one, grab it quick as they don't last. Great product, my kid loves it.

Try and find one with a wet bar.

I would be careful about this; we paid a pretty penny for a jogging stroller with our first and seriously that thing has rarely if ever been used for running. Its not that we aren't into running or anything...but pushing a stroller and running seriously sucks!!

Now we're at the point where our daughter just isn't interested in a stroller in the slightest. All of the being said though the Valco strollers are very impressive. You can also get a fantastic one at MEC.

I can't remember the brand name, but I went golfing last year down in Canmore, and played with a guy who worked for a Calgary based company that made carts for babies that attached to your bike. I wonder if they also made jogging strollers, or something similar? Anyone know the company name?

I believe Chariot is a local company that made it big.

I also vote for Chariot. Very smooth, well built and easy to use. Go with a double if you expect additions in the future.

Vote for Chariot here as well. My wife managed to find one used for 2/3 the cost of new. We don't run, nor have we hooked it up to the bike yet, but it is actually a great setup for long walks with the kid - lots of storage room and very easy to push over whatever terrain you might be going over.

Plus those water bottles really come in handy when it comes to having to drink your problems away.

My wife is a psychiatrist; she can recommend a medication and therapy regime that can help you with your problem.

Yet another one for Chariot. My wife is an avid runner and has used hers a ton. It's still going strong and is soon to be on the fourth kid to use it!

Chariot all the way. Plus you can buy an adapter to pull it behind a bike. Also, you can get "stroller" wheels for the front so if you want it to be shorter and more maneauverable you can switch it out. Can also get a harness if you want to take it hiking or even cross country skiing. I also second the double version, even though I have a single. Sport Swap. Very adaptable for different scenarios.
