You can either just ignore picking it up and they will send it back automatically after 2 weeks or you can go in say you don't want it and they will return to sender free of charge on your part.
So no it will not cost you anything to RTS.

As long as it's Canada Post you are fine. If it's UPS, they'll send you a ridiculous bill afterwards for more than the item is worth.

They'll just have your uncle sign for it, and then it will explode in his face.

Arca Sim Racing? If so, I was thinking of getting it, but was waiting for more feedback on it first. Since it's coming out of the US it's probably hung up at the border. Pretty standard practice for cd/dvd's, as they seem to be cracking down on pirated dvd's and games.(especially out of China) You probably will have to pay for a custom's broker at the very least, probably around $8 or so, depending how it was shipped.
*edit* or as was mentioned above, if it's UPS probably not even worth it to bring it in. I think they charge around $35

Where did you hear about that?
I was told it was held in strict confidence.

I have ordered stuff from the States and it took less time. It will be 13 business days tomorrow, and people in Germany, Australia as well as the UK have it in much less days.
I will give ya a review if(or when) I get it.

while the post office may not have a charge, the vendor might have a restocking fee or some other charge to cover their expenses.

Have you already paid for the game or is it COD? If it's already paid for (which most likely is the case here), then make sure you will get your money back if you send it back. Refusing the package is usually not the proper way to return items and will usually result in more fees from the vendor (if they even accept the parcel back). The Canada Post fees you are talking about are just duty and GST. They will be very small compared to a company like UPS who also charges you brokerage on top of the other two charges, so rejecting the parcel on this basis is just silly.

Canada Post has a brokerage charge as well .. i believe $5.00
and before people complain about how much UPS charges vs this $5.00, keep in mind Canada Post is subsidized by the taxpayer and UPS is a private (for profit) business.
in fact, you would be surprised at the unfair competition the post office practises against its competitors, all in the name of serving "Canadians".

Just be wary of that stuff. Most companies have a 4 week shipping 'guarantee', if you refuse shipment after it arrives they will likely charge you for shipping and a 'handling' fee of some sort.

I have to agree. The other thing is if the item is coming in from outside Canada, the other postal agency might charge the sender for the return postage.
So you could potentially be out the cost of shipping twice, plus any handling fee the company you bought it from might charge you.
This is why I always tell people to clarify what their shipping time needs are.

Apparently I could have more delays, apparently the shipper basically screwed up, no postal codes on some packages, no paperwork.... Real Fun

After the buttkicking they've been taking within the sim community since announcing this thing was coming out TSF really doesn't need to add any more fuel to the fire. Kinda disappointing to hear this, as I've been more or less in their corner throughout, giving them the benefit of the doubt when people trashed them, but the more I hear the less I like

It's onespot(the guys they choose to deliver the game) more then anything, but everything I read about them is bad, so its bad on TSF that they hired them. Tomorrow I intend to write a email looking in to some sort of compensation.

So what exactly is this? Just a game or the entire rig including chair, wheel, etc. ? The only thing you'd have to pay Canada Post is the import duties if they access any. Most electronics usually go duty free because of NAFTA if they are American made. Also you will pay the handling fee ($5.00 if they open and inspect it at customs). Then finally you pay the G.S.T. on it.
