Default COD4 for PC

COD4 is a rather popular game at this time and I'm certain that many people here at CP play on PC. Like the PS3 username thread I thought I would see who on CP plays and what their in game username is and where they play.

I play as.... wait for it.... Buff. I know. Who would've thought?

I mostly stick the same few servers, depending on who and how many is playing.

I don't have server IPs at this moment, but I stick to these servers:

5307th Rangers - I've played Spearhead with these guys for a few years. When they made the jump to COD4 I did too. A few of them used to be in the same clan as me.

105th STS - I also used to play Spearhead with them, as well as COD2.

ETFU - Another bunch of guys who used to play Spearhead. The founders of this clan came from the 5307th clan.

There are a few others, but I mostly stick with those three servers. All the servers I play on are run by clans that have their origins from Spearhead, most specifically the tactical community (Tactical Realism - no running unless for cover, no jumping from unrealistic heights, no bunny hopping, etc).

So, who are you and where do you play? Maybe we know each other, or maybe we've seen each other without knowing we also belong to the CP community.

I've been messing around with it for a week or so now (quick rant: Why are game developers incapapble of creating a good interface or making it easy to find friends). I'm finnaly at the point where I'm not dying every 5 seconds and can generaly kill at least one foe/rnd.

No idea what servers I play on, I stay away from the deathmatch servers and look for the search/destroy type.

Fun game, looking forward to playing it more.

I guess it isn't as popular for PC on CP as I thought it may be.

I played the SP mission through a couple of times. I'm not that big of a MP guy, so i'm never on there unfortunately.

I'm the same way. Loved the SP tho but I thought it was too short so may try MP at some point here.

I'm avoiding the MP on purpose, already addicted to too many games.

You don't know what you're missing.

Seriously.

The guy beside me at work plays it a lot, so I know exactly what I'm missing. Which is why I'm avoiding it!

What else are you playing?

Actualy, allow me to derail for a second. Any demos out there for a good space based game like cataclysm? Or how bout a good RPG along the lines of NWN or WoW?

Back on topic now

TF2 gets enough time as it is, plus a huge pile of games I still have to play on the consoles.

Agreed, TF2 is a hell of a game. I just don't seem to be getting tired of it. Pretty sure I could play 2 Fort for hours on end.

I've completed COD4 on the PC but haven't really given the MP a shot yet. Maybe I'll give it a go one day. Like Photon I've got too many other games on the go. Uncharted on PS3 and the new God Of War on the PSP are taking precedence right now.

For you guys who haven't played multiplayer, just try playing the gametype sabotage on Crossfire.

If both teams are good and know how to play as a team it's the most fun I've had in a multiplayer experience ever.

I actually haven't played past the first mission on SP. I got right into MP and have ignored SP since.

The single player portion is EXCELLENT and worth doing IMO.

^^^Agreed. The SP is just too good to ignore. One of the best single player experiences around.

Just too short.

Plus, if you wait until the end of the credits, there is another short mission to play.

Oh, did you guys know that for the sniper mission....they physically mapped that exact area in real time....and I've talked to some of the people who've been there, they said that playing the game was like walking through the area in real life.

Yeah, I was going to add "albeit a little short" but decided to keep it positive.

It's still worth playing through regardless of length. What there is, is top notch.
