Default US Election Sub Forum???

Since the US election is a popular topic why not create a its own sub forum so everything on the election is easier to find?

We don't really want to have a bunch of sub forums, particularly in the off topic area. From time to time we will have sub forums for hockey related matters...but political stuff and what not can stay in the off topic forum.

That's my 2 cents anyways.

Agreed, subforums in general are a bad thing not a good thing, they fragment traffic and the increased navigation tends to decrease activity.. at least until a specific point where the forum activity is high enough to sustain it.

If the OT forum was overrun with US politics threads then maybe we'd consider it, but otherwise the discussion is focused enough that a single thread or a couple would be enough.

The only subforum I could possibly see a need for in the Off Topic forum would be an Entertainment one. All the threads on television shows, movies, music, concerts and the like could be thrown in there. But I am not sure if it's actually necessary or not. Although creating the Tech subforum has seemed to create more threads about that kind of stuff.

Nah, I'd rather just sticky a thread.
