For all those of you who had players involved in trades today...
How do you feel the trade will affect your players as far as their NHL future and CPHL future are concerned?
Personally, I was distraught to see Huet dumped to the Caps. While he should be the clear-cut #1 in Washington, I think his numbers will certainly take a hit. Washington isn't the most defensively responsible team in the league.
I really don't understand the move for the Habs. And I think the CPHL Avs may also suffer as a result, long-term.

Good question, I never even thought about it to be honest.
Hmm, let's see.........
Brad Stuart went from LA to Detroit = good.
I think that's it for me, lol.

Tuomo Ruutu going to Carolina I think will be good. Carolina is a more offensive team and the South East Division is more open than the Central is. Fart Columbus, Detroit, and St.Louis are all stingy teams and Nashville isn't an easy team to play against on most nights either.
The Huet trade benefits me as Halak will now get a chance to play at least a little bit. I was fearing that he was burried in the Canadiens organization and that with him not getting a chance that he might eventually bolt for Russia. So this is positive for me.
Jim Vandermeer going to the Flames can't be a bad thing. He is getting to play pretty regularly and hopefully that will help him out.
Also with St.Louis moving out Backman and Salvador today it does give Wagner a chance to make their lineup on a more regular basis so that move bodes well.
Overall a lot of my guys are going to get some oppurtunities from a lot of the moves made today. But thats sort of expected when you have a younger team and you're trying to project where these guys will be next year or maybe the year after moreso than how they rate this year.

Smith finally getting a shot to be a #1 is exactly what the cphl and NHL Bolts needed.

David Leneveu was the only player we have the moved today. I think it will be good for him because he will take over the starters job from Montoya in Hartford. Id rather he be in NY because the Yotes are such a flaky franchise.

Brian Campbell - I feel he'll be successful for no matter what team he plays for. If he does stay in the Western Conference, it'll be interesting to see how he adapts to the more physical style of play.
Erik Christensen - The move to Atlanta will only help his career. I definitely think Atlanta got the better of the deal in the long term and he's a major part of that.
I think they both "we'll see" situations, but I'm optimistic.

Hossa to Pittsburgh should be good for him indeed, but the odds of him remaining a Pen past this season are slim so it's yet to be seen how that unfolds.
Lighting picking up Smith could be good news for Ramo as he'll have less pressure and more time to grow, but could be bad short term as he'll see a lot less ice-time for now.

Well I had Bergeron get traded from the Isles to Anaheim. I think it will make him a better player longterm because he'll get playoff experience and maybe learn to play better defensively.
And I had Pettinger move from Washington to Vancouver. Again, it's nice to see him go to a better team. His offensive numbers have been terrible this year so there's a chance that the change of scenery will get him going. I guess this trade is a benefit for my player as well.

Nobody on the entire Pens roster was dealt. However with the Huet deal( as much as I question it as an NHL move) it really throws Price into the spotlight. Price will see number #1 minutes and the kid has responded on every level he has ever played so if he can respond on the NHL level, this deal will have huge implications on the Pens CPHL roster.

No kidding, I was really shocked to see Huet traded especially for only a second. Its hard to imagine that Hall Gill was worth more than Huet........
Now a person would have to think this guy has lost his #1 role. As with the Capitals he would only be the backup.....

Steve Bernier needed a change of scenery, especially with the way Wilson shuffles his lines. He has a couple good Francophone buddies in Pominville and Roy, and Buffalo is a young, energetic team. Hopefully this move will let Bernier realize his full potential. I was really happy with the move.

Chad Kilger – The trade really won’t affect the plug. He’ll fall into the Panthers depth charts and keep on plugging along. The only are that he will improve CPHL wise for the Hurricanes is that he is now out of Toronto and where the demand of plugs in the CPHL isn’t very high the demand for Maple Leaf plugs are even lower. Just the fact that Kilger is no longer a Maple Leaf can make him 50% more tradable
Andrew Ladd – Moving to Chicago can be a good thing for Ladd, always the odd man out in the depth charts in Carolina and found a home penciled in on the 4th line unit. Ladd was never really given a chance to advance nor did you make a move to grab it either. Being in a new surrounding and on a much younger team he should be a lot more experienced this time around when trying to establish himself within the lineup.
Hal Gill – Just being out of Toronto will improve the rearguard, His game is nothing pretty, big body and a big stick but now in Pittsburgh Hal can go about his game much more quietly and can find a spot of the defensive core where he is an addition rather then hinder in the blame machine that is the Toronto media.

I supppose I lose in that the Oilers kept all their players....I was hoping they'd move Pitkanen somewhere that he would maybe play better. Although this guy is such a flake it doesn't matter where he plays.....I admit it now...I'd be better off with a retired Scott Niedermayer than this clown. Get me some Vasoline for the rape job the Sharks gave me this summer.
