Damn...well a tie is better then a kick in the junk. The Avs launched 39 shots at Emery, who was named first star. Hamilton gets 2 assists and Kessel is day to day with a hip injury.
Not the best game...but it helps us keep pace with the top teams

I like the edge my team showed by injuring 2 of their players, shows that they are into the game. Good victory outshooting the Jackets 37-18 for the 3-1 win. Fernandez was solid in net. Straka led the team with 2 points.
Panthers play a low Jets team tomorrow, however, will not act any different as they can still beat us.

Hmm...the Panthers can't play with the real teams in this league so they decide to goon it up against me.....Those puddy cats won't do anything in the playoffs.

Ouch, close game with the Caps results in a loss and allows the Wings to leapfrog us in the standings with their win. Good news is that the Kings also lost to the Sens and we remain only 2 back of them. Tight race for 5th place in the Howe and actually not too much seperating 2nd and 7th:
Hawks - 87 pts
Blues - 85 pts
Wild - 84 pts
Kings - 82 pts
Wings - 81 pts
Sharks - 80 pts
With our 2nd loss in 3 games, we're going to have to step it up a notch if we want to move up the ladder at all as all the teams ahead of us are capable of winning the majority of their remaining games. Next game is a big one versus the Wings and if we can't get the win there we'll likely be stuck in 7th for the rest of the season.

That third line is really clicking for me. Connolly, Paille and Antropov, who would of thunk?
Jokinen with one assist in his debut. Mike Peca with no points but playing on the fourth line. He seen most of his 12 minutes killing penalties.
Turco was given the night off and Johnson came in and played solid for just his 5th win of the season. Stopping 23 of the 25 shots he faced.
The sharks loss tonight allowed us to leapfrog them into 6th place in the standings. Now just one point back of the Kings for 5th.
Next game is Wednesday vs San Jose.

We never played tonight but because of the Flyers loss, we are now 1 win away(2 points) from clinching a playoff spot. We play Minnesota tomorrow and will look to clinch a playoff spot with a win over the Wild.

Another game, another loss.
Hasek was brutal yet again and outplayed by superstar Patrick Lalime.
Finally out of the play-offs and it looks like we will stay there for good.
I guess scoring goals and keeping them out of your net is not as important as other things in the sim.
Oh well at least we traded away all our youth earlier in the year to get a highly rated team.
Again all of our players over 25 are available if anyone wants any of these bums.

1149 FLYERS 4 OILERS 5
This was the most shocking Oilers win of the season!
Fans at Rexall Place were literally saying "who are these guys?" as the Oilers iced four defencemen who all were playing in the AHL very recently. A heap of injuries on the backend forced the Oilers to start Cam Barker (65OV), Tomas Malec (66OV), Johan Fransson (62OV), and Eric "Did you get that memo about the TPS reports?" Lundberg (61OV).
Expecting a loss, GM icarus decided to give Martin Brodeur another day's rest and start backup Patrick Lalime. To the amazement of the Edmonton fans, Lalime and the ragtag defence rose to the challenge and won. In fact, the four rookie blueliners combined for 1 goal and 5 assists! That's more than they usually scored in a game playing in the AHL together.
The Oilers love playing against the Flyers, against whom they are 3-0-0 on the season, having outscored their opponent 16-7 in those games. The two teams will meet three more times in the coming weeks.
With GM icarus in serious trade talks with a number of teams in the hopes of finding some relief defencemen, the best news was yet to come: Bryce Salvador has made a miraculous recovery from his injury and is set to come off the IR at 99CD. This gives the Oilers much more breathing space and time to find the right deal for a blueliner.

Sure I get 6 games against the Oilers and other teams get 12 games against the Jets!
No wonder I am out of the play-offs!

Well the Wild were even lucky to be in this one. Vokoun kept us in it but the team didn't give him any help in the third.
Tough test tomorrow for ATL.
The Wild GM remains totally puzzled.

No one gets 12 games against the Jets (although the Thrashers got 7...).

Huge win for the Pens as we continue to stay in the thick of the playoff race. This win came at a great cost however as the Preds injured two of our best defense men. Luckily Jovo won't miss anytime as he is listed as day-to-day and Markov will only miss a couple of games. Pens have a day of to rest up before throwing it's injured blueline to the test against the Canucks on Thursday.

Hawks beat Leafs 3-1.
Second straight loss in a row for the Leafs. The story is pretty similar to last night against the Devils. This game was very even. Shots were about even and neither team dominated. But the Hawks were able to pull it out with 2 3rd period goals. Going 0-7 on the PP didn't help, and I guess you could say Lundqvist could have stopped an extra shot or 2.

Big win for the Senators.. puts us back in a playoff spot for now. Also a big win vs a strong team. Solid effort by the 3rd line. Tjarnqvist, polutny both had strong games.
can we keep this up.. 1 point up with time running short..

Preds drop one to the Pens. Lubomir is the first star though and looked good with a pair of goals. Lehtonen can't stand tall on the night against his old squad after he got hooked in place of Thibault once the fifth goal crossed the line!
